Really cool, the visuals are very nice and establish a cool atmosphere, the steal mechanics are also very neat, the levels were a bit tricky to figure out but really cool overall.

Oh, goodness! Your game feels so "solid" and professional, very refined! Wow, I am blown away! The music and the lighting, how they both trigger a change at the crucial moment - it all adds to the beautiful atmosphere surrounding the concept, a fantastic execution! I especially marvel at your decision to create a work that is short but very, very high quality instead of falling into the "quantity over quality" trap! It makes the game that much more enjoyable, and it shows that the created content is very deliberate and consequential! Excellent work, excellent!!

I managed to beat it! It's amazing how much you got done! It definitely got harder on the next level and I had to try several times to figure it out! It's cool that theres a level up and progression system too! Amazing!

Very innovative use of the limitation. The level layouts are well done and the gameplay loop is solid. The controls feel a bit finnicky at times and the UI between stages is a bit lacking in cohesion. The choice to make this turn based and almost rogue-esque was smart and it really pays off in the flow of the game, allowing for measured moves to be taken while keeping the tension high. Overall creative and well thought out, especially for a quick jam game. Very nice!

Nice stealth game. I would like to keep playing it, the idea was really fun. The mechanic, the vision of the enemy, the upgrades. And the art really nice also

Please give my game a try if you have some time!

Woooow, the ability system was so cool, the puzzles were genuinely challenging (with plenty of aha moments), the symmetrical warfare of other dopplegangers was awesome, although I still am not really sure how I should've strategized my abilities differently.

The pixel horror aesthetic is super strong here too. Nice work!

Like the art style, reminded me of a low-fi Apotheon!

Love the art and concept! The game was simple to learn and had many interesting ideas.  Also, the cover art is great.

I love the concept and I wish there was more! The only way you know that there are doppelgangers is through the main character. This could be its own standalone hitman-esque assassin game. 8/10 The limitation is only present through the optional powerups.

Very cool concept and I loved all the little details that I know took a great deal of effort like being able to hide behind things and being able to see what people's next moves were. Took me a few tries but I made it to the end of what you have so far - I'd say the difficulty is appropriate. Excellent work!

First off, congratulations on submitting a game! Well done.

I liked the concept. But the problems with presentation made it hard for me to enjoy the game. It was hard to understand how the game works. I would stand next to my doppelganger and keep swinging the sword, but they don't die. I assume that's because I can only attack once before moving again? For a game like this an intro level would be amazing. Where you walk the player through the main mechanics with input prompts shown on the screen.

Also I wasn't quite sure how to use hiding behind those boxes to my advantage. Since if I hide, next time I have to unhide to make the doppelganger move. Then he sees me and attacks. Maybe there's a way to stay hidden for multiple moves and I just missed it.

The first level was supposed to be an intro level. I've been trying to avoid explaining too much and creating walls of text, but I may have gone too far in the other direction!

For the sword issue, did you press U and then a direction? Or did you press U and then U again (this will cancel the move)? If the latter, did you get this tutorial message: "Activate your sword with [U], and then choose a direction, to kill someone one step away."? Perhaps that's a confusing way of doing it? (Otherwise it might be a bug; using your sword ends your turn, and then after that you'll be able to use it again, or move.)

As for the hiding, you can press Space to end your turn without doing anything. So while you're hidden, you can press space to have enemies walk past. I'm pretty sure I put that somewhere in a tutorial level, but maybe I forgot!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Okay, that clears things up a bit for me. Press U and then choose a direction where you want to kill.
And the space trick to skip a turn I didn't realize!

I think I am prime example of how big walls of text get skipped. I think you're right, you did put those instructions somewhere, I just skipped through it, cause I wanted to play the game haha. I think button prompt icons on the screen with a short text would work for even the laziest and most impatient of us. So when I walk up to the enemy a prompt would appear "Press U to  swing sword", then "Press direction in which you want to kill". That's only in the tutorial level.

I like the game. I thought the way enemies move when you move added a cool twist. Nice work
