First off, congratulations on submitting a game! Well done.

I liked the concept. But the problems with presentation made it hard for me to enjoy the game. It was hard to understand how the game works. I would stand next to my doppelganger and keep swinging the sword, but they don't die. I assume that's because I can only attack once before moving again? For a game like this an intro level would be amazing. Where you walk the player through the main mechanics with input prompts shown on the screen.

Also I wasn't quite sure how to use hiding behind those boxes to my advantage. Since if I hide, next time I have to unhide to make the doppelganger move. Then he sees me and attacks. Maybe there's a way to stay hidden for multiple moves and I just missed it.

The first level was supposed to be an intro level. I've been trying to avoid explaining too much and creating walls of text, but I may have gone too far in the other direction!

For the sword issue, did you press U and then a direction? Or did you press U and then U again (this will cancel the move)? If the latter, did you get this tutorial message: "Activate your sword with [U], and then choose a direction, to kill someone one step away."? Perhaps that's a confusing way of doing it? (Otherwise it might be a bug; using your sword ends your turn, and then after that you'll be able to use it again, or move.)

As for the hiding, you can press Space to end your turn without doing anything. So while you're hidden, you can press space to have enemies walk past. I'm pretty sure I put that somewhere in a tutorial level, but maybe I forgot!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

Okay, that clears things up a bit for me. Press U and then choose a direction where you want to kill.
And the space trick to skip a turn I didn't realize!

I think I am prime example of how big walls of text get skipped. I think you're right, you did put those instructions somewhere, I just skipped through it, cause I wanted to play the game haha. I think button prompt icons on the screen with a short text would work for even the laziest and most impatient of us. So when I walk up to the enemy a prompt would appear "Press U to  swing sword", then "Press direction in which you want to kill". That's only in the tutorial level.
