This is my first game, didn't plan well, so unable to finish sound effects, music, and dialogues. But the game already have story, level and playable.

This is very cool :D
I like the art and the animation (love the way it slightly moves doing the combos). Also the way it moves feels solid and predictible.

Enemies encounter didn't suprise much, maybe adding the backward dash as Castlevania does will give the interest that currently lacks.

I was about to stop playing when I found the first vertical platform challenge with the linear saws. The challenge was interesting but I felt extra punished by the way the saws slow you down (being hit at mid air and falling all the way down was a pain in the a**). Maybe just decreasing the player HP would feel more fair (but hey, just my opinion :) )

On the other hand I felt super smart when I realized that I could jump and attack to make a longer horizontal jump.

The overall was entertaining , good job on your first game!

Impressive artwork, specially the character and enemies design and animations. The game has a lot of personality. Also the gameplay is really solid, the controls are responsive but very precise. I agree, however, with the coments regarding the encounters with enemies since  spamming the hit button and hope for the best seems the only option. Really great work anyway, I'll definetely keep an eye on this project to see how it evolves. Congrats!

The art is very well done! The character control was pretty good. The most trouble I had while playing was fighting. The enemies attacked much too quickly, making it difficult to get any hits in yourself. I basically just spammed the attack button and hoped I survived. For being your first game, great job! I bet you learned a lot, and I hope you continue to improve!

Moving comment from project page (from 2 hours ago):

This is an impressive first game jam game!
The art looks very nice, and the gameplay works fairly well. I had some difficulties with some movement, and the stagger not making you invulnerable resulted in getting hit doing a lot more damage from multiple hits before I could do anything about it.

I got stuck in the sawblade area, as I couldn't make one of the jumps without getting hit or missing the platform. I think I passed through the edge of the platform once, even. If the  blades didn't halt my momentum it would have been a lot more forgiving.

Currently the game is very punishing for minor errors and occasionally has very narrow margins for success.

The story seems very interesting, though, and I hope to get to see more at a later date. :)

Thank you for your feedback! I'm still working on improving the gameplay and adjusting the difficulties. I guess because of my lack of experience of game design, it's hard for me to balance the game level. Your feedback means alot to me!

This is really impressive for your first game! Great job! That being said, I definitely feel that it was a bit difficult to control and had a really hard time playing past the sawblades. Combat also felt rather unexciting. From what I played, it seemed very linear (unlike a metroidvania) but perhaps the play area opens up more past the point I gave up at. I'm sure you learned a a lot while during this jam and I'd love to see you continue to work on this project :)

Thank you for your feedback! I did learn alot from this project. May improve a lot more in future one.

I like the graphics but I miss one of the key elements of this genre, in my honest opinion, which is the rooms and room transition

The level has some walls that can block your path unintentionally, like the colliders are not well separated, and in terms of game feel is a bit hard to control

But, having in mind this is your first game, I think you manage to build something interesting and also, even if music is missing, I encourage you to take note of all your learnings, not only in terms of game engine or code, also time management, estimation, etc.

I truly believe you can be very proud of your final result :)

Thank you for your advice! Yes, time management for me and the team is one of the hardest parts. We didn't plan our schedule and scope very well and therefore a lot of mistake happened along the way. The transition of rooms is an interesting point! we will definitely keep that in mind for our future project! Again, thank you for taking your time to play our game and give us feedback!
