How is your game meta (within each relevant category)?
I would say the game keeps defining and breaking fourth walls. That would be it's major theme.

The game also distorts some JRPG and interactive fiction tropes. Game development is also one of the themes in the story, as in why people make games and how some people feel about making games.

About the parody, guess there is not much to say here, most people should know what I was referencing in there.

Nothing, really

Anything you want to say to players before they play?
It's a quite short interactive fiction story, so don't go in hoping to find a full JRPG thingy

OK, I finally uploaded a video of my playthrough, it can be found here:

I love Final Fantasy, but I expected a real game .. I'm a bit confused o_O

In any case, the idea is nice and I like the story !!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! It wasn't exactly the most standard entry out there, right?

Hello guy! This was a very neat concept! Maybe a little lost on non fans of the Final Fantasy series but pretty good overall.  I would have liked to see maybe, different colors for all the characters as I often got lost in who was speaking.  Also, you have lots of room to add interesting animations and transitions and I don't like that would be too hard to add in necessarily!

Overall, really really fun and unique!

Developer(+1)

Different colors for the characters would indeed be nice, easier to understand and possibly a little bit more pleasing to the eyes.

And yes, interesting animations and transitions would also be cool too. I may expand the game later on, thanks for the feedback!

This story is quite meta, probably more appreciated by FF7 fans. I guess her death was not a KO state so pheonix tails wouldn't work, but back the first time I played the game I was like... huh

I totally lost track of all the layers.  Inception, man.

Maybe I'm in the minority but I never wanted to revive Aerith...  Maybe I'm ok with sad things in stories because they do point to a creator who has a plan and a purpose.

Thanks for playing!!! :D

To be honest I've never wanted to revive her either :( I love sad things in stories and I wish her death had made a bigger impact on my experience. It's just that you often hear that her death was a case of gameplay mechanics not fitting the story (at least I often do haha) that I thought it would be a good place to start the meta-ing
