Hello, your game is really beautiful. The drawings are the best I've seen in this competition. Follow
Thank you!
I advise you to complete this game and not leave it after the game jam.
took me ages to crack the first puzzle the num pad one? Am I too dumb gang? 😭 but 10/10 art tho and the execution was really good too along with the lore of not finding any matches TwT (too real)
The player is never at fault! We're the dumb ones for making it so unnecessarily hard 😭
noooooooo stawwwpppp trust me its my fault , I have only one functional brain cell ngl yall did a kick ass job on the game in 3 days so stoppp and take the compliment pllsssssssssss😭
Hahaha, okay, we're taking the compliment now! Thank you so much!
The puzzles were a little obtuse and unintuitive, but solving them was satisfying. Feeling that spark!
100% should have made them a bit simpler, especially for a jam game, but I'm glad you liked it anyway!
I had to rack my brain for this one 😵💫. I love the artstyle and atmosphere of the game with the music. The opening sequence was a nice touch and got me into the story as well, so the twist ending was pretty shocking. Unfortunately, Itch.io doesn't support spoiler tag in the comments for some reason, so hopefully no one reads this comment before trying out the game. This game is awesome so try it out first!
PUZZLE SPOILERS AHEAD
The puzzle were a bit obscure and would loved if there was some way to show what was "partially" right. I thought the S was a 5 so I got stuck for a few minutes trying to rack my head what the code was. I also wasn't expecting the code puzzle to be case sensitive, so I left the code at the end thinking it was finished, but that was just me not reading that "Enter" was part of the controls.
Nonetheless, great jam game!
Yes, I completely forgot to include the controls in-game, and only realized after we published haha
This is our first proper attempt at a game, so to see one of the creators of my favorite submission to this jam say such nice words (and give good feedback) about what we made, it's genuinely got me all giddy!
And I'm so glad you liked the artstyle, it was the thing we put the most effort into <3
What a cool and polished experience! I love the interpretation of the theme and the user experience. Only thing is that I didn't really get the color puzzle because I'm colorblind, so a high contrast mode would be appreciated if y'all get the chance. The art and sound direction was fantastic too
That's so, so kind of you!
And also darn it, when making the sprites I even thought "There's statistically no way someone who is colorblind plays our game, right?", and it turns out I was a fool for thinking that haha
I'm new to art, so I have never done any high contrast/colorblind-accessible adjustments before. Do you have any experience with the process or technicalities of making something like that? I'd love to include it as an option for future games.
Hmm, I don't have much experience with the process of how to add it into games, and I haven't messed around with shaders enough to know if there's a simple scripting solution.
My favorite example of a AAA game with a colorblind mode is Overwatch, as it adds the ability to customize outlines without changing the rest of the games colors. I'm already used to seeing things a certain way, and I typically don't use colorblind modes in games where it shifts the entire colorspace since it loses the intended palette. A cool thing I remember Among us doing, for the task where you need to connect the electrical wires of matching colors, is to add shapes that correspond to the colors, which I thought was neat. Although I guess its trickier in your case since the puzzle might become too obvious.
And that's actually crazy that you're new to art- fantastic job!
Thank you for some inspiration! I especially like the Among Us example, it makes me realize it would be a lot easier to just design the game in a way that doesn't rely on colors in the first place!
And thanks again, it warms my heart to hear that <3
cool! I like the idea and vibe, it was funni! i couldn't solve the puzzles though o_o but that metal is inded hunky
Thank you so much, that's so kind of you (and we definitely made the puzzles a little too hard lol)! We're excited to try your game too, once we get around to playing all the submissions! Just the thumbnail had us sold on it, we love the derpy cats <3
