Keep the Spark Alive

Days keep passing by, it’s all just work , work and work. Life has been nothing but paying bills, filling sheets and repeating the cycle again and again. The game dev that once was full of life and spark has started to fade away with time. He no longer feels the joy in making games, his daily life is all about earning enough to keep the food on the table. He no longer remembers the dreams he once had while he was a kid……dream to make games that will be remembered. Slowly he’s been burnt out and the spark is almost diminished by the rejections of the world. No one but you can save him before he completely turns into a machine. Help his inner child to bring back the spark again.

(This is meant to show that there's still hope for the game devs who still face rejections and yet every day wake up and pursue their dreams - the spark is kinda symbol and moreover the spark is held in a vacuum tube that shows you the way )

I really loved the character model the boss fight at the end reminded me a lot of it takes 2!

Developer

haha xD yea you are right I was kinda inspired by it takes two vacuum boss but went with a computer robo kinda boss to make it relatable to the lore and thank you for the compliments and playing the game <3

Interesting spin on the theming of the jam! You did a great job at introducing the hazards and then letting the player run free for a bit. There was some issues of readability on where exactly some obstacles and attacks would be active but I could see a lot of potential for interesting gameplay segments using the spark mechanic that you implemented.

Developer

yes yes true indeed, it was done intentionally to keep it bit more challenging but I will keep this noted for future update maybe and tysm for playing the game and probably even after jam ends maybe I'll update the levels with proper props and everything we planned but due to time constraints this is all we put together and tried to make all assets ourselves 😭

A really cool take on the theme, and the gameplay was a lot of fun. The boss fight was a really nice surprise too!
