genuinely fun game! it had that nostalgia of playing uno, would love to see a version with multiple AI. Ended up playing for about 45 minutes straight. I did have some issues with differentiating colors at first, but grew accustomed to it. The special cards were pretty intuitive except for the reveal opponents hand card, that one I had to waste to figure out what it did. Overall a genuinely fun game. I could see something like this on steam for $5 and I would buy it if it had the option to play with friends!

Developer

the code that we made was actually expandable to accommodate other AI players but we sticked to the one on one to feel like a duelist tournament. realllyyy 45 minutes ?! woow thank you branton these are the feedback we game developers are proud of hearing and receiving :D I will change a lot of things once the jam ends and apply your insightful concerns.

I played this game for way too much time. My only niggle is that some of the card colours are slightly hard to tell apart. But the whole tournament feel with the visuals got me completely hooked. The cheat mechanic is subtly brilliant. The attention to detail with the sounds and the opponents cards being upside down, it all accumulated to a great experience. Thank you for making this game.

Developer

We'll try to make the colors stand out more from each other after the jam ends but we appreciate your feedback James and thanks for playing/enjoying the game :D

Oh boy, where to start.

This game had to be close to the top of my favorites played so far! It was a unique take on a card-game game (haha grammar). I like how the music is tame and that keeps the experience immersive because everything from graphics to gameplay to music is aligned to create an immersive experience!

When I think of games as an analogy I like to think of a metaphorical present :

The mechanics are the gift itself.

The graphics are the wrapping paper.

And the sounds are the tape and bow on top.

(Without great mechanics you have a shoddy gift, without good art it doesn't make the gift seem special or surprising, without good sounds you've got nothing to hold the wrapping paper together.)

and your game hit all the checkmarks for my metaphorical present analogy.

My only caveat (albeit a minor one) is that ESC is used to pull up the menu. Normally, this is pretty standard, the issue is that when playing it through a web browser it is an awkward choice because if you hit escape when using the game in its fullscreen on the browser it actually shrinks the window down to the non-native resolution.

Besides that fantastic idea and excellent execution. This is a project that has a lot of potential and something that I will probably come back to playing after I am done rating a bunch of other projects!

Excellent Job and Game On!

Wooow this is the most extensive feedback with an analogy that we got so far, first of all thank you for enjoying the game as much as we do creating it. You're correct that ESC is used for exiting out of fullscreen and we will adjust the UI to screen size accordingly, we'll change all of it after the jam ends. Again, thanks we really really appreciate it :D

This game is awsome! I really enjoyed it. Nice idea, nice presentation. I would have added more cheating however.

Couple of suggestions:

- There are too many types of cards. A match is too long, and you can get 10 or more cards without a match. To my opinion, it's a bit too much.  I would remove one card color, or one card shape

-Little detail: the cards delivered by the opponent are upside-down. I would rotate them by 180 degrees so that the player sees them in the right way.

Awsome game however, nice job!

Developer(+1)

Yes I think you're right when it comes to too many shapes/color, we'll try to change that. Thank you for the criticism and for playing it :D

Awesome game! I like the tournament atmosphere and the simple card style. The “cheat” mechanism is subtle but really add something to the game.

It is very polished.

Developer

Yes the tournament vibe is what we aimed for and we're glad you picked up on it. Thanks for playing our game and for the feedback damantisshrimp :D

Super cool! I really love the background and the other players playing in the background really add to the surreal-ness!

Developer

Glad you appreciated it, I wanted to feel like a tournament and adding the background is one of them. Thank you FootGames for the feedback :D

This game is really awesome. I love the implementation of the secondary deck that you can use to cheat and get a leg up on your opponent. The base game is already lots of fun on its own but the secret deck is a really interesting idea that adds an extra element of strategy. It's sooo satisfying when the cards line up perfectly and you can win in a single turn :D

Developer

Really appreciate you enjoying our game InsanePig :) If we decide to expand on this we will add a combo counter if you play cards consecutively.

Submitted(+1)

The game is just wonderful. I stuck in it for about 15 minutes. Very interesting idea and implementation is also up to par!

But I wanted you to have "secret" cards from the beginning of the game.

Developer(+1)

15 minutes thats a long time haha ! I think i'll change it so you have 1 secret card in the beginning.  Thank you for playing our game godresky :)

Very nice art style! Especially with all the other players in the background!

The game reminds me of UNO, but with a twist :D At one point my enemy and i had around 10 cards and then i got the blank one and almost won in a single turn, what a joy :DD

cool game! :D

Developer

Thank you for playing and enjoying it wlad, yes its uno and we want to implement more action cards but unfortunately we don't have enough time. Glad you enjoyed the game :)
