Really like the concept and idea that electrical energy can be absorbed and redirected against the enemy monster while being able to stored it as fuel for the slow motion effect. The lightning effect is really neat and I manage to fry a group of three enemies at one time. After playing the game several times, you should consider further develope the game in terms of the the attack system and maybe even turn the concept into a puzzle based game utilizing this attack mechanic. I would like to see more of it if there are plans for more development.

By the way, the main menu UI is really fantastic and is a good setup for your future games.

Quick thoughts on this quick game:

  • The menu looks great
  • Having a control customizer in the menu is appreciated
  • The models look great
  • Movement feels good
  • Attack reach needs to be longer (I thought she would start with a wand of some sort)

I hope you are able to grow this project into the experience you envisioned some day.

Submitted with 33 seconds to go, wow! There's cutting it close and there's cutting it close. I don't know how the development process went, but I think I can see why it's so rough.

There's a surprising amount of polish in some areas. The main menu is pretty nice. I didn't try to remap controls, and I'm not entirely sold on the pixelated effect in the menu, but it looks good and fits with the game. The aesthetic could be divisive, but it's very well done and I personally really like the look. The world and character models are really nice, as is most of the animation and the music.

On the other hand, there are clearly some placeholders and missing pieces, and I managed to glitch into a state where I couldn't jump once (probably the same one ShibeyFaceGames ended up in).

The biggest problem is that combat just isn't fun in its current state. I found it awkward and finicky, because your reach is shorter than the enemy's, it's not obvious when you'll hit them, and you usually have to crouch to hit them and that halts your movement. Without solid effects it also isn't very satisfying.

The special ability is really cool. I love the visual effects both with charging and using the power. At this point, though, it just doesn't seem very useful. I think it could be something that becomes useful later in the game, and maybe that was the plan.

Really looking forward to seeing where you take this one!

The graphics are really nice on this one! The level environment is cool and well constructed. I really like the time-dilation power, it's a great usage of the theme! I initially didn't realize how important it was fighting the enemies. I do wish it charged a little easy/faster though. Maybe gain some energy back by defeating enemies, rather than returning to electric boxes?

The gameplay is a solid, but could probably use a little polish. Completely understandable in a jam game. It didn't seem like there was any story either, but again, it's a jam game.

I did run into a bug where I was stuck in "attack" pose. I could walk, but couldn't jump or attack. It happened after beating up an enemy who had fallen down from a platform, and was in the air a little bit. I did eventually break free by spamming buttons for a minute.

Overall, I think this is a great demo! I hope you keep working on it!

The graphics are extremely cool. I'm pretty nostalgic for the fifth generation of console and PC games. Music and sound effects serve their purpose, though you might want to add more attack voice clips to the player attack and run it on a randomizer to play each clip.

Gameplay concept is really cool and unique. I feel this game has a interesting twist on combat with the electricity and all. Although this game might need a better tutorial.

Some expansion of the level, tweaked gameplay mechanics and some bug fixing would benefit this game greatly, but great effort!

Even on very easy, I could not beat the first level.

Problems I ran into were a strangely short attack range (often having me inch closer pixel by pixel until I could hit), gameplay that overall felt laggy and slow, and the enemy having a far larger range of attack than me.

I suppose the biggest problem, though, was that I had some trouble realizing that I was supposed to kill the creatures, as the game seems at its most fun when trying to run past them. I was really confused when I got to the end of the level and nothing happened :P

The time slow mechanic is nice, but it charges too slow for how long the effect lasts - and the effect (at least in this level) does not even seem terribly useful.

On the good side of things, it is really pretty and has some creative ideas there. The option to remap buttons is also a major plus, which got you an additional point on engagement (because I had no idea where else to put it).

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! The difficulty, range, energy charging time, etc, you are fully right, I just ended up having no time to playtest anything and had to throw the game out with the first variable values I used :(
