The controls are hard to grasp at first but once it starts to click its very fun to play! The ball hitbox seems a bit off which was confusing at first but it played pretty well! I think the character might be getting stuck in corners which might be due to multiple colliders overlapping. Overall a great experience though getting multiple hit combos coded seems like a tough endevour but it turned out great! The art for coots is also so good! Great job!
Thanks for the feedback!
The physics are custom coded actually (I didn't use Unity), and I just ran out of time. I know exactly why the slopes aren't working properly -- if you press towards a slope while the cat is standing next to it, it thinks it's next to a wall so it stops. It's an easy fix, but one I just didn't have time to implement because I was working right up until the deadline haha. You're definitely right about the ball having weird hitbox issues though. For the most part I added hitboxes over Coot's boxing gloves, but I also accidentally only made the hitbox come out for one frame (frame 2) of each animation, which makes it really unforgiving -- another oversight that I just didn't have time to fix, but will improve once edits are allowed.
Very unique idea for a game. It took me a while to realize there are several types of punches you could do after messing around with the controls a bit, tutorial is definitely a good idea. And I loved the premise/story of the game and the visual way in which you told it, really great work there!
The left run+punch not working on the diagonals/verticals (for example: running left, and then encountering a diagonal/vertical you can't just keep pressing left and jump) is really off-putting and it doesn't feel like an intentional design, but rather a mistake? Or laziness in trying to make it work? I just don't see the reason why I can't run up diagonals or keep movement+jump against it.
The hitbox on the marble was also jank in that punching up works for the center of the marble, but the side punches only work on the actual edge of the circle.
That aside, art and music were good! Liked the bop!

Yeah, the slope issue is definitely a bug, I just didn't have the time to fix it. Definitely fixing the issues with the hitboxes as well! Thanks for the feedback!
Aw. That's a shame! I'll change my rating a little :3
Had trouble getting the controls down starting off but once I did I had a blast! Really liked the art and sounds were really nice. Nice work!
I beat it with the diagonal punch, controls were odd tho
First of all I love the character art, its super cute. Also the idea of the game and mechanics is really unique and fun. It took me a little while to really figure out how to play but once I got the hand of the moves I was able to beat most of the levels. However, as some others mentioned I did get stuck on the long slope level and really couldn't figure out what to do. Additionally I felt like the hitboxes were pretty unforgiving. That being said I think this is a good game and with some adjustments to make it a bit more user friendly would be super awesome. Really great work!
Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I need to fix a few of the hitboxes on attacks haha
This game is really interesting and the gameplay mechanics themselves are good; hitting the marble around with different combos was fun. Unfortunately, hitbox issues and general jankiness (especially around slopes, I tried for 10 minutes to climb the long slope but just kept sliding back down) give much to be desired. Although if those small issues were fixed this could be a really fun game!
Also I couldn't figure out how to beat the first level until I read the combo list and realized there was an uppercut, maybe having the list show up when you start the game could help out in that regard as well.
Yeah definitely. I ran out of time so the intro level (which was supposed to be a tutorial) didn't really help much. I didn't have time to fix the slope glitch either which makes the final level super annoying. Thanks for the feedback!
Really nice art :o Great stuff!
The combat system and animations are hella nice minus some input bugs, almost feel wasted in this game where I am just punching marbles instead of punching another cat(in game)
Really nice all around.
Love the art style! Once I figured out the directional attacks I was able to get through the game too.
You are so talented, the animations are so good! Thats a 5 on presentation from me :)
Also the hidden lore of the name is so clever.
Controlling the game is a bit hard at first but once you get used to it, it becomes very satisfying. I also like the attention to detail. Very fun game!
Loved the art of Boxing Coots, nicely done!
last slope made me want to slope myself
Lets name him butt
Really loved the art style in this game! The hints helped a lot in avoiding confusion and also introducing new mechanics in the game. Punching the marbles felt so satisfying and the feeling when you finally put the marble in the cup is the best! Overall a really solid game! Great job!
I really like the animations in this game! The controls were really hard at first until I found out about the crouch punch and ground pound, I think the tutorial should mention that. But punching the marble around was really satisfying when I figured it out
