Did you work in a team?
Two, one audio/music person and one game developer/artist. This was very fun, I love pixel art and am really happy with how our game turned out.

Was the resolution a challenge?
It was challenging but fun. I had trouble configuring Unity to stop showing sub-pixels at upscaled resolutions, but strict pixel-to-world units was actually really flexible once everything was configured!

What did you learn?
Yes, this was my first game developing primarily by myself. I learned a ton about how to bring a project to completion and present it well, which is really challenging for newbie game devs such as myself.

Nice game! The mechanic of launching yourself to move is very interesting, and I like how you can chain  together launches by smashing into items. The slow-mo is a nice touch too, and makes it a lot easier to set up combos. The graphics are good and I really enjoyed the music. Unfortunately, I had the same issue as chmann where WASD stopped working after the first run.

I love the sense of atmosphere in this game, the clouds and the way the sky changes as the sun gets closer are so nice, and there's lots of nice lighting effects as well! The music set the tone very nicely, good sense urgency, perfect "the sun is approaching and we're going to die" music haha. I didn't figure out what all the different objects did if anything, but I had a lot of fun! Great work!! :)

Seemed like a cool concept. Unfortunately WASD stoped working after my first run, even after restarting the game.

It was a little unclear what some stuff did, I'm not really sure if the bombs were good or bad, but they didn't seem to do anything.

I also get the sun needed to seem intense, but the bright yellow constantly over most of the screen did feel like a bit much sometimes.

Very fun! I love how unique it is. Its very pretty, but I also can't stop thinking about "readability", especially when the sun floods the screen with yellow. Just some friendly feedback! Overall a great job!

Overall, I liked the game!  The graphics were really beautifully done, and I liked the music as well.  I felt like it would have been nice to use the mouse to aim instead of WASD, personally.  I found WASD harder to control, which made it difficult to pull off cool maneuvers.  But overall, cool concept and it all came together nicely. Good job!

It stands out as a game, it's a creative idea, addictive in its simplicity.

I don't really believe that the visuals were too cluttered, I like the chaos going on. I think that it's not about clutter but about the palette:  important stuff should contrast more and particles should be a bit more in the background.

Anyway, since the mechanics are not too complex I think you can afford a bit of chaos :D

Good job, very fun, I hope you are very proud of it :)

Super fun! The mechanic was awesome, and the visuals were really pretty, but they were also the biggest weakness. All the effects lead to a LOT of clutter, which is something that really impacts gameplay when you're playing in 64x64 resolution. All the screen clutter made it really hard to understand what was going on at first, but once I got it, it really kicked in!

The midair directional changes, and trying to plan my jumps, was super fun! I just wish the mechanic was better explained so I couldve gotten more use out of it earlier!

Really cool entry :)

Nice game, a bit complex to identify what’s going on when you’re almost caught. Fun to play. Overall a very good job!

Game was very fun and I got to nearly 200 first try. Problem: It will no longer detect wasd keys after the first time i played it, even after redownload. i don't know why. sorry man. But this is a pretty dang fun survival game.

Thanks so much for playing and commenting! There's currently an issue with persistent data saving so it's likely setting your sensitivity reset to 0 when you started a new run. You can press Eescape and increase the sensitivity as a workaround.

if that works, I will be so happy. I wanted to play more!
