Did you work in a team?
1. Just me. It was very lonely and a lot of work. Gonna try collaborating next jam.

Was the resolution a challenge?
The 64x64 limitation was fun. It was a bit difficult when dealing with text.

What did you learn?
I learned about angles and rotations from making a twin stick shooter style game.

Nice entry, maybe a bit too cramped on-screen due to the big size of sprites. The camera flash, as commented in other posts, feels more like a lantern light than a flash… a short single directional flash would balance difficulty as it leans towards “easy” the way it is. Some background spooky music and the camera “click” would to lots for the ambience… also something like a limited amount of pictures you can take (like in the old film based cameras) could also add to the mechanics. Overall a nice game, good job!

Thanks for playing. There can be a ton of improvements I think one day I will make part 2.

Great looking game. All the little ghosties and spookies are charming. Plus the bosses are boss-like. The camera flash doesn't stay in place so you can just twirl your way down the street to victory.

The dual color outline isn't something I think I've seen before. What made you go with that?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! A few people said the camera makes the game the game too easy. Its definitely overpowered. For the dual color outlines I was inspired by the art style of a horror visual novel.

I enjoyed playing~ The supernatural atmosphere is unique, and I think the pace of the game is just right to allow you to deal with the enemies!

Thanks for playing! My newest goal for my small indie games is to make them playable in about 5 minutes with a mid and main boss.

Fighting ghosts with picture-taking is one of my favorite horror tropes, so I'm glad to see you've represented it with your game! Your ghost sprites are quite nice. I think the camera's area of attack is maybe a bit too wide; you can just stay in the middle of the screen and swivel and shoot and stay safe until at least to the first boss. A fun experience overall though!

Mine also Im waiting for the next fatal frame game. I think so too about the camera. If i expand on this game concept I might shorten the camera range and angle and give players a power up item to increase their range similar to the whip in early castlevania games. Thanks for playing!

The game is surprisingly colourful. It was fun to play. Some Sounds would really make this game even better.

Thanks for playing! Next game jam I am going to try getting a sound engineer on board as early as possible

The sprites look really cool, I like how colourful it is even though it's spooky!

Developer

Thanks for playing! The sprites had to be low res so mario and pacman ghosts were my inspiration.

some sound would be really nice! good job though

Developer

Thanks for playing!  I think you are right about the sound. Next game jam I will try collaborating with a sound engineer.
