It is very difficult to play. The way the characters move need a of fine tuning

Pretty cool game, but far too difficult for me. Even so, I'm tempted to just play this for three hours to try and get a little further as more 'realistic' jumping mechanics have always interested me. Despite that, I do wish there were additional mechanics or controls to make platforming less of a trial and error process as I really wanted to get past the first several platforms.

Impressive animations. Almost feels like rotoscoped. The fluid animations plus the feel of the running and jumping remind me of retro rotoscoped games like Another World and Prince of Persia.

I'm kind of frustrated right now though. I tried the first two small platforms for several minutes and never managed to get both characters across. I didn't even get to try the swing mechanic.

Very cool, just way too hard for me, sorry to say. The physics feel fine, the jumps are just unforgiving without being able to adjust in air, so I'd definitely try some easier levels, especially at the start, then work up to the hard stuff. Good job though!

It's pretty tough! I actually think its neat that, when one of the characters is hanging on the rope, its possible to hoist them up on a platform by timely moving the other character left and right for the swinging character to gain vertical momentum. Didn't realize you could do that the first couple of times I played. Intro cinematic was a nice touch too. Couldn't make it past those two small platforms on the upper left though the difficulty is what makes these kinds of games rewarding, well done!

Thank you, I really appreciate your comment, and yes you are right about the rope, there is a platform further away where using the rope and swinging is the only way to pass a situation

I really like the art work in this game. Found it to be quite challenging and really like the idea of connecting 2 characters together.

Love how you actually contextualized the connection (rope) by putting it in a climbing setting. The game is definitely a little bit on the hard side as other users have said. I think starting with a very easy platforming section first would help with the learning curve.

thank you this is i thought too

The art was really well done however the mechanics of the platfoming felt very overly difficult. I had a hard time even at some early jumps due to how I couldn't control the player while in the air which to me personally felt frustrating. Overall though, very well made

The pixel art / animations are beautiful! Although aesthetically pleasing the animations felt like a hinderance to getting anywhere in the level, but it may just be a mechanic to get used to, its just the animation delays made it difficult. I like the complimenting mechanics and this would work well as a couch coop game.

thanks nice suggestion

Some people point out that the controls are bad, I just want to justify my choice.

In most common platformers games, the challenge is in the enemies or something else, and jumping from one platform to another is a formality.

In this game the gameplay and the challenge is spaicially to be able to jump from one platform to another, that's why I used physics to add more difficulty, the main characters have acceleration and different weight and speed, that's why you have to be precise in your jumps and learn the skills of each character.

Cool submission - I think that connecting the characters and noticing the difference in handling between the two (as spoken by them) was a nice touch and helped cement them as different characters.

I felt like the character controls were both the right choice and the wrong choice. It felt nice that the characters has momentum and that when they hit the ground they had to pace themselves first. Although it also meant that navigating the really narrow platforms became almost impossible. Perhaps consider scaling the difficulty in the first couple of jumps down such that it was easier to get to the swing part before ramping up the platforming difficulty.

If you have the time, please consider rating our submission - thanks!

Thanks for the advice, that's a very good analysis. I should have done the easier levels at the beginning with a larger platforms, but I just didn't have enough time.

It was kinda hard but I liked the rope idea very much. Also the story was good!

Amazing concept! I like the idea that Mary and Dave went adventuring with a safety rope connecting them, and that's how you fit it into the theme. However, the controls seem very hard to control.. not smooth is the best way to put it, which makes it hard to play.

I like the text chat between Mary and Dave that we see :)
