Oh, sure... the place falls a part and THEY get to leave, but me? Do I get to go home? Nope! Well, I'll show them! Attempt 1 of my escape: I managed to get out of my cell. Immediately gunned down by a turret.
I see... so that's how it is!
Attempt 2: Killed by wall heater thing around the corner.
This is a very unforgiving place!
I skittered around a bunch, but didn't manage to escape... yet. Those turrets make it the platformer from h... well, y'know. In short, I love the challenge! I also love that we can pick up where we died, more or less. Restarting would be a nightmare! A solid submission for the game jam with some great visuals! Fantastic work!
that was so hard
i love the death animation and how it shows what killed you
i luckily managed to win
the last stage was so hard.
also please try my game if you haven't.
Congrats on reaching the end, that's no mean feat :D. Thank you for playing.
I did rate Lagru, yes!
Really cool visuals and concept. Took a lot of effort to make it to the end, but I barely managed to get that slippery fish monster there ;) Great job!
Thank you! The game has a bit of a learning curve - would've loved to introduce the mechanics and strategies gradually instead, but there was no time to make additional rooms. Glad you made it to the end :D.
Thanks for playing!
Cool game! The assets make for a really cool vibe! I had some difficulties with the movement where jumps won’t register when trying to do quick platforming. The FOV really gave the sense of going fast so it was hard to convince myself to do slow platforming haha. Nice job!
Thank you!
The missed jump happens when the character moves just slightly into open space from a tile - you're still thinking you're on ground, but there's open space below your feet. Camera distortion makes this even harder on your perception. I somewhat fixed it after the jam ended, but it's still not perfect.
Great Game, some music would ahve been nice- the big 9 Shooters are very hard to evade - maybe a hole in the wall side would be nice to evade those - but the cam was on point very well made - the movement was a little floaty on jumps, maybe add a coyote time into it. Very well done! I liked it alot!
Wanted to compose a track myself, but it went out of scope pretty fast ;). The wall traps are designed to be jumped over, it's why there's a double jump in the game. There's only one that has no space to evade, and the player has to bait the shot.
Thank your for playing and the kind words!
Hey, I really enjoyed the visuals and the audio design. The monster noises were exquisite, you hit the you are the monster theme on the head with that. Unfortunately I got stuck early in the hallway where the laser shoots at you to the left of the first turret room. I couldn't figure out how to get through there to the platforming section. So my personal exploration ended there. What I saw looked stunning though. Great entry.
The short hallway? Bait the shot - walk into the trap, and immediately backwards once you hear the trap activate. That gives you 3 seconds to go forward :). That room was not mandatory, too - you can disable the turrets in the main room from there, but you can just as well just dodge their shots. The important part is getting rid of the force field.
Thanks for giving it a shot, and thank you for the kind words!
Oh, I see!! Thank you for the hints!
