Nice concept. And I don’t say that because I made a typing game too.

Btw I have a bug with window “key found” that stay on top on the screen, and I don’t see my character.

Except this, good realisation. Nice entry ! Well play

Developer

Thank  you for the bug report. The window should be closeable by spacebar or enter key. If it doesn't close it, it is a bug.

I am still checking your  position in the popularity ranking and I wish you good luck. It looks very promising for you ;)

Developer

Does not work on Safari. It is developed in Godot 4.1, which web version works only in chromium browsers (firefox, chrome, ...). I didn't know it, and I do now ;)

Exploring crossed with typing is an interesting combination!  I made a typing themed game last Kenney Jam, so it was cool to see one this jam as well!

I do think that word mode is easier to play than random letter mode.  I had to think a lot more about where the letters were on the keyboard for sequences like "sjf" and "fld" and "kjs" than the word equivalent.  So I could definitely recommend just switching to words instead!

I'm sure you could expand the gameplay further by having to type words over enemies to attack them with fireball spells or something of that sort :)

Developer

Thank you for you feedback. Yes, you are right, the enemies would be great, maybe  in some future version ;)

I played your zenless garden game and I absolutely loved it! It is just pity that the game is lost in so many other (much worse) games on the server

Neat idea. I also had trouble closing the popup and sometimes on level 1 it would get confused as to which direction I was trying and wouldn't allow any input, or I'd have to go up when I really wanted to go right.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. Still a lot of debugging in front of me :)

Neat concept, I wish the controls were the same phrase instead of constantly changing.  That way I'd still have to type something random, but it's always the same for left up etc... and I could move around easily.

Especially with how sensitive the system is, if I messed up trying to type the word on the right I would trigger the word going down and would have to type out that word.  And it seems you don't have to be close to the items to type the words, I beat the first level by accident trying to figure out the controls.  Then when I got to the second level I realized there was an actual chest and key involved.

Thank you for your feedback. I wanted  players to practice the typing. Because of that are the words still changing. Better game experience is in the version with whole words, which is on the bottom of the menu

Cool typing game, I enjoyed the input mechanics. I did struggle to figure out how to pick up the key. Even when I typed the letter in the box next to it, it just said "Go find the key." Also at one point it seemed like there was an input buffer that stored a whole bunch of my keypresses and sent me wandering around at random as if I were deliberately typing.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. There is still lot of work to do to everything works as it should. Maybe I will fix it afterwards, if people would like to play it.

Pretty cool concept with input handling, I like it. Solid submission overall

Developer

Thank you, I am glad you like it.

Interesting mechanic, I couldn’t figure out how to close pop-ups though.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. The pop-ups should be closed by spacebar or enter.

Fun to play :3

but i find it a lil hard sometimes, sometimes i enter the keys and it just says wrong keys ! Even though it is the right key >.<

i also didn't notice the key on level 1, it just said i took the key while i was actually focusing on pressing the keys to move :3

Overall, well made !

Hello, thank you for your feedback.

The problem I know of is when the word for key or chest is beginning of the direction word. Than you accidentally grab the key or open the chest. I should add the condition to the word generation which should solve it.

Thank you

This is great. I wish i had something like this to learn 10-finger-typing. You could add some enemys where you have to type fast or something. I can definitely see this game in schools.

Developer

Thank you very much for your feedback. That is not bad idea but it needs still a lot polishing:)

Pretty cool typing game, using typing to move the character and pick up/use keys! Personally I think having words as the default choice when typing in the levels would be better for most people, but I can see how this can be educational and teach people keyboard layout.

Thank you very much for your feedback.

very interesting controls for a exploring game, i have not seen this before, i don't normally have to look at the keyboard but i found key combos like "dfjk" quite hard to do without looking! nice work

Developer

Thank you very much for such a positive feedback ;)

This was super cool! I could definitely see this being used in schools to teach kids to become familiar with keyboard layouts. Great job!

Really like this concept for teach keyboard layout, etc. Some light puzzle music in the background would have been nice. Great job. In which pack was that wizard found?

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. The wizard was in the RPG pack. Yeah I was in time pressure, there is still lot to do.

Yeah, I know all about time crunches too!
