Nice chill game. I've crashed a lot especially when the ship is going downward, maybe adjusting the camera a bit would help or health bars. But I did manage to make the map! Good job :D

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! You can rotate the camera by right clicking and dragging the mouse. Hope you enjoyed!

I liked the visual aspect of the game, the water looked really nice!

Developer

Thank you so much! I really appreciate it!

The concept is good but the implementation could be better. I’m sure it is a limitation of the assets available but it was sometimes hard to figure out which islands matched which drawings. The controls could be more fun with more animation and feedback, and colliding with islands ending the game didn’t feel right.

The subdued music was calming and fitting to listen to, and I liked the sound design of the game. The water animation is also quite nice. I wonder if a movable camera would be nice to have, even if it must be limited in order to prevent the player from seeing too much at once.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! The camera should be able to rotate with right click and drag. Thanks for the feedback on the controls and the islands, I’ll definitely consider that if I continue development. I hope you enjoyed!

Looking really nice and quite similar to my submission to find and chart islands. The shipwreck was quite quick and sometimes unavoidable which was a bit annoying. But nice entry.

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback! I agree that the shipwreck system is underdeveloped; I rushed it and never really got back around to making it better. I hope it didn't ruin your experience!

Pretty good concept, I really like a relaxing game like this with more of an exploration emphasis, and the music really helped to fit the vibe of the game. I think the shipwrecking mechanic is a bit annoying and doesn’t add much to the game, especially since you can shipwreck on what looks like empty sea (at least at the front right corner of the level. Other than that though, I enjoyed it a lot!

Developer

Thank you! I agree with the shipwreck mechanic, its probably what I'm least proud of overall, and I wish I had worked on it a bit more to make it feel more fair. Thanks for playing and giving feedback!

Fantastic! I love the very open play experience and filling out the map manually yourself is a really cool feature. Well done!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you liked the concept and gameplay!

9 grids randomly generated. I can spend whole day on this game, love it!

Developer

I'm super glad you like it that much! Thank you for playing and leaving a comment!

Great concept, ideally fit theme of the jam. Is the level content actually procedurally generated?

Developer

Glad you liked the concept! I guess you could call it procedural generation, but honestly I think that gives my solution too much credit. All the game does is pick an island from a set list of  6 prefabs and spawn it at a random location out of 8.

Thanks for playing!

I really enjoyed this, such a simple idea and chill execution but the allure of discovering just one more thing beyond the horizon keeps you wanting more. I'd love to see this developed further after the jam ends with more realistic buoyancy physics for the ship and animations, maybe even a sailing component (imagine if you had to actually use the wind and it changed directions?) Like some other reviewers, I felt it was too easy to shipwreck, especially when heading to the bottom of the map where you can't easily see the land coming at you. But really a nice little game, especially since you said it was your first!

Thank you so much for all the feedback! I really liked all your suggestions, and I'll definitely consider all of them if I decide to develop this game further! Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Nice chilling game, Like the exploration part, and direct ship control

Submitted(+1)

cool concept, gameplay is  little confusing otherwise fun to play.

few suggestions:

make ship more durable,

make controls simple,  easy to navigate.

may be add some hostile island.

Nice idea and a fun gameplay!

This is a really cool game! I think sailing is a great application of exploration, and it was cool trying to look at the islands to get a sense of how the whole map is laid out, all with some very relaxing light music. Moving was a little slow for my taste, and sometimes the camera rotation made it hard to get a good angle to look at the island in detail, but aside from that, extremely fun game!

Nice chill game. I would maybe remove or change the shipwreck mechanic, because I was nearly finished then got game over, which I wasn't expecting

Developer

Thanks for playing!

That’s a fair point, and a few other people have mentioned it as well. If I do continue developing this game I’ll definitely change it to be less frustrating and unforgiving.

I appreciate your feedback and I’m glad you liked it!
