Very nice and fun concept

I really enjoyed the way you dealt damage to enemies; it reminded me of the Survivor.io Instagram advertisement, haha. It would be great to have information on the amount of damage I'm inflicting on the enemies and also display the enemy's life on the game screen – these are crucial elements to be shown.

Having a well-designed menu with settings would be a quick and straightforward addition. In the next game jam, you could simply adjust the theme and options for the menu if you wish.

By the way, for the damage aspect, you could check out my game to see how the damage popup appears when hitting a meteor; I think it would fit perfectly in this game.

Additionally, implementing a randomly generated map would add a lot of value to the overall experience.

Great job accomplishing all of this without an engine! I remember using SDL2 once for a Candy Crush game, and I initially struggled due to the lack of content explaining what I was trying to do, haha! :D

Fun little game. I like the idea of having to build up my stats before going to the harder castle/tombstone islands.

Having the interact button right next to WASD makes it a little difficult to efficiently gather resources while walking. Having the arrow keys as an optional movement input would be nice.

Also at first I didn't realize the ship had durability that goes down (after repairing it), so I hit an unexpected Game Over in the overworld.

Thank you for your feedback! Now, that you've pointed out the controls, it really makes a lot of sence, i will keep it in mind.

I guess I should have expected it, but I was not prepared for the enemies to start swinging back at me lol

This is a neat concept!  Though I didn't realize my ship was about to fall apart in the overworld.  Maybe making that health meter more prominent would have helped with that.  And some indication on where to go would help (like is there some end game island(s) I should be heading towards?  I wasn't sure).

And some of the graphics were a little small.  I had a hard time telling what the different resources were at first.  A slightly more zoomed in camera might help.

Thank you for your feedback

I was aware of most of that but I didn't have time to solve it. By the time I realized that I need to scale up some graphics, I didn't have time to implement that. And the bar icons for at least a little more clarity were among last things I managed to do.

Cool concept. I also didn't realize the symbols in the ocean were the repair/upgrade buttons at first, but still a fun time.

Was a nice game to gather some resources, upgrade things and travel by boat. At first I didn't notice that I could upgrade cause I didn't see it were buttons, but luckily noticed in time to fix the boat to go and explore further.
