Nice arcade game! i got stuck in the snake for a long time xD
Awesome fun! Was a blast playing games like snake and breakout again, it's been a hot minute! Really loved all the humour that you put in the game, from the Gomer and Gamer bathrooms (got any duct tape, anyone?) to the Konkey Dong (I wanted to play this so badly!), really brilliant. The sound track was a little bit repetitive but the sound effects throughout the mini games were really well done. A fantastic entry, congratulations!
Really cool game you made there!
The interpretation of the theme is really original, I didn't expect a serie of minigames.
As a few people already mentioned it, the aesthetic of the arcade is really good. It's cool that the minigames are played on the arcade directly, and not just in fullscreen, like you can see the screen of the arcade and the room behind.
The music is a little bit repetitive but honestly, it didn't bother me that much, and it fits well with the arcade theme. The sound of the dialogue is maybe a little bit loud though.
Also, I really like the funny dialogues, lot of them made me laugh^^
Sad that you couldn't make a
TetrisTetrus (but "Game jams are hard" :p )GG!
Actually, I made a 1-minute-long song, but accidentally ended up exporting only a single pattern from the song. I didn't notice I did that until after the submission time ended. I ended up liking this single pattern anyway because it fit the theme, but I laughed really hard when I noticed this messup. Thanks for playing :D
One of the funniest game for sure.
But you might wanna prevent the blue bar from going outside the screen in brickout.
Actually, the paddle DOES have a limit on how far it can go, and it can only go offscreen because I messed up the camera in that minigame to fit the size of the machine screen. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing :)
I checked my code again and the collisions were messed up. Thanks for the feedback, I would've never found this otherwise.
You're welcome, looks like I find bugs in every game I play except mine XD
I liked the colors that were used in the game, and I thought the idea of bringing an arcade into the game was really cool, I thought it was quite creative and fun.
Thank you very much!
Empty arcade is such an aesthetic. I love it. The early 90s carpeting really got me. I uh, did manage to softlock the game playing "Brickout". The ball went into the wall and got slowed down a lot, and then stopped completely after hitting a couple of bricks.
But good use of theme, and good way to get mileage out of a handful of simple mechanics. Very nicely done.
Thanks for playing :D
Yes, unfortunately, you can softlock yourself super easily in "Brickout", that's why I added the "backspace to exit" mechanic, which is written in the description. The main goal of the game was the aesthetics and the jokes, the minigames were just a small bonus to maximize immersion.
Very smart way to get heaps out of one room. Great job!
Thank you :)
