(I'm just going to pretend I didn't mute it before interacting with the girl, and never turned the sound back on...)
Well, that's going to be the spookiest game I play tonight. The atmosphere was fantastically done, great work on that! And the puzzles were fun, too. Took me a minute to piece together how to solve each one, meaning it was a good difficulty for a horror game.
The full list of Hololive was rather slow to search through by picture to find a few names, maybe a way to streamline it would be that interacting with a picture would take you to them on the tablet? Although that certainly sounds too hard for a gamejam game. I ended up just piecing it together from the multiple choices and the names I remembered.
Quite the creepy vibe you have here! The puzzle is a bit unintuitive for me, that I find myself to brute force it especially the 1st one. (Or maybe I might be missing something)
Another thing that I have to address is, there seems to be a bug where when you interact with something, some time you will be lock in place, force me to quit and re-enter the game.
That being said, I really like the horror vibe you manage to capture here! With some polishing and maybe including talents as a horror piece as well might make your game more spook-tastic! Thank you for the hard work!
To my own surprise I did need the tablet to solve the picture puzzle at the end. (Iofi's first name is Airani???) I think the ambience and general vibe is pretty on point. Somehow it reminds me of a Markiplier video? (Probably because that's where I've seen the most horror games lol)
I did find a wall in the stairwell that simply does not have collision. You can just walk right through it and fall into an endless blue void.
Overall, well done. I like the puzzles.
lol yeah, her name’s Airani~
anyway, thanks for playing and enjoying the puzzle! I was pretty surprised by the Markiplier vibes lmao
and, well, my bad! I think I missed some specific spots. Thanks for pointing that out
A scary game.
The jumpscares were okay and the ambience spooky.
Nicely done cutscenes.
Unfortunately I couldn't get very far as I kept getting stuck when interacting with the portraits. This is also why I won't give a rating to this game, since I barely experienced it.Edit: I managed to play it again and complete it. The puzzle took me a moment to understand, but I ended up solving it. It seems there shouldn't be an interaction point behind the portraits in the puzzle room with multiple doors, because interacting with it is what causes the player to get stuck.Improvement suggestions:
- Please enable V-sync or frame cap your game. It's running at 400fps and making my GPU draw a lot of power for no reason.
- I got stuck when interacting with a talent portrait in the "#1 name" room. Couldn't move or do anything else but jump.
Thank you for playing, and thank you so much for the feedback! I'm still learning, and your suggestions are really helpful. It's unfortunate there's a bug near the end, but hopefully, it will be better in the future
Once again, thank you! This is really encouraging
I am not too sure if it is just problem from my end, but it seems I am having quite a few collision and interaction issues.
I had to spam jump and E to get the portrait in the first room to register. Got stuck and was unable to move after interacting with the portraits in the "1st name only" room.
Pretty creepy atmosphere, not a fan of the jumpscare though.
I like the puzzles though, had fun with it.
Thanks for making this!
Thanks for playing, and bring some detail bug, wish can be better next time! :D
I liked the idea of the 2nd puzzle, it was unique and the members data definitely helped. The empty and dark areas helped with the tense atmosphere as well.
Thanks for playing and the feedback :D
I took too long understanding #1 meant first, and writing this down made me feel even dumber. :) Don't be afraid to incorporate the talents themselves as the scary aspects of your game to better suit the narrative of having the young man's fears and desires intertwining with each other. Who knows, you might be the next dev to work on the next Hololive Error game!
hey, but you solved the puzzle, tho! and thanks for the suggestion...
wow HoloError? what a dream! :)
The puzzles are interesting and the atmosphere was pretty good. The portraits at the start were really creepy. It's also a crime to not put Fuwawa and Mococo together lol.
thank you~
Noooo!! What've I done? Wish no one arrested me.... *lmao
I liked the horror atmosphere of house. I wasn't too sure what the tablet was for as I ended up not using it for anything though.
Thanks~
Yeah, the tablet is actually for players who might not know the members' names, since they need it to solve the puzzle. But now I realize it’s too easy
