Great game, the controls felt great, i didn't feel at a disadvantage even when the rocks were really fast, and the art looks really good

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks for mentioning that. I spent so much time tweaking the controls that there was no time to work on anything else. That's why there's only one stage haha. I've been working on another mini stage that comes before the water but I'll post an update after the jam ends.

Cute little game^^ Am I missing something or your screenshots not related to the game?

Developer(+1)

there’s a lot more I wanted to add but I didn’t make the deadline. Just wanted to get something working for now. After the jam I’ll post an update

Nice game! I love the vibrant colors and design. Also the minimal backgrounds. The sound effects are cool and are very fitting to the style of the game. Movement felt nice and smooth. I enjoyed it!

Edit: I honestly wasn't bothered at all by the water, but maybe I'm biased towards blue lol.

I enjoyed this game - controls were great, artwork was nice.   I agree with the other poster regarding the water pattern.   It is not easy on the eyes to play.

Developer

thanks for playtesting! I’ve made a lot of changes based on everyone’s feedback and toned down the water a bit but I’m waiting for the jam to finish before posting any updates. Glad you enjoyed it!

I fucking love the sound when you get hit in the face with a boulder, I almost purposefully wanted to do that! I like the theme you choice, but I found the game a little monotonous and repetitive. The flashing water pattern strained my eyes, and I would be worried for someone more sensitive to rapid flashing. I think the platforming part of it looks really interesting and I hope you continue with that later!

Thanks I'm glad you liked the boulders! haha. I appreciate the feedback and will make sure to address each of those items in future updates after the jam embargo

I think the storytelling, camera direction, and Chapter display before it becomes operable is very good. I would like to use it as a reference. I think the color palette should be adjusted, because the color of the bird and the color of the water in the background were very similar. As you can see in the screenshot, I would like to see an animation of the bird flapping its wings.

Developer

Yes I see now—good point with the colors being similar. I’ll tweak the water so it has more contrast against the player. Wing flapping and additional animations will be introduced once we’re allowed to make changes to our games. There’s so much I want to change already. I’m working on a mini stage between the intro and current water stage. Thank you for the feedback!

The graphics are really nice. Everytime I came close to completing it a stone would get me 😅

Hi,

Some feedbacks after 3 launches:

  • A good starting idea, simple and fun.
  • Is there a maximum to be reached? At 14 nothing happens. I got to 30, nothing either.
  • I haven't seen the level you took screenshots of.
  • Relevant background music
  • Irrelevant sound of shock with the stone
  • Collision with the character unclear: the stones do not hurt the wings and you cannot catch the pieces of Osiris with your whole body.
  • The character is a bit disproportionate, his head is really huge. The background and the obstacles could be more varied.
  • How about an end boss?
Developer

After reading your feedback I have a better sense of what needs to be fixed. I need to clarify the goal. Right now it’s 33. Those screenshots need to be updated because that was from a platformer stage that I had before I changed it to this. I do want to include more enemies, obstacles and a boss when I have more time. Thanks Caton!
