Fun little platformer! Definitely a few variables you could tweak to make it a bit smoother. Character is really fast for how zoomed in it is. There was one section where you had to descend a hill and dodge spikes that was kind of difficult because of the camera, you can't see very far below you. Over all fun though!

It's a good game with high potential. Just you really need to work on the wall jump. I got stuck in a place were I couldn't proceed without wall jump and gave up at this mechanic was not really intuitive and I couldn't master it.

Developer

Thanks for playing, wall jump is my bane, one day I shall get it right

Looks cool! I liked the classic jumping on enemies thing. At times feels like the character is moving too fast, and allows to skip entire sections by jumping and moving right.

Nice little game. But the character is so fast it's a little bit hard to control at first. And the enemies could have a hitbox a bit bigger. Haha. Other than that, good game. I liked it. 😋

Neat little game. Wall jump mechanic was nice. I think if you could have incorporated the title/end into the beginning, maybe made it the start point then you could have some sort of recursion for one of the wildcards. The little dog things were terrifying. I enjoyed the game :)

Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)

I really dug the mood and atmosphere.  I wanted to jump on the tree, and struggled a bit to see the spikes but had a good time.

Developer

Thanks for playing. Yeah it would have been good to add a tree top section, would have opened it up to another enemy type and added more jumping challenges!

Also made it to the end. It was fun! I like the visual effect you did on the trees.

Thanks for playing :)

Got through the forest aswell :) as others have said the camera doesnt show much the dangers but asides from that is a solid entry !

It was a simple concept but you clearly tried very hard on level design.

Thanks for playing

An enjoyable platformer! Thought it was funny that you can wall jump off of the golems, a bit of emergent fun :)

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you had fun

You clearly spent quite a bit of time on the world layout for this game. That's much appreciated.

Thanks for playing

I really liked the audio slider option being on the main menu/title screen - had never considered this is a really seamless way to integrate! The vibes: impeccable. A little fine tuning on controls and I would love to play a number of different puzzles and know about this world

Developer

Thanks for playing, I've had too many people complain about volume in the past not to put the option in a really obvious location :)

i made it through!  loved the fancy renaissance man & animations. a classic stomp, I needed some time to get the hang of the wall jump, and when I couldnt see the spikes I just went for it. nice job

Developer

Thanks for playing. Yeah I definitly still need to work on the wall jumping, havn't got it perfect in a game yet, thanks for the feedback

Haha the guy looked like the flash for me when moving, got to the end, nice game!

A charming little platformer.

The controls were a bit chaotic, a bit too fast for me. But, the obstacles were fun to navigate and the enemies art was great with their little animations.

The position of the camera could use some tweaking, im currently seeing a lot of the level above me and very little below me.

Overall, amazing effort!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback.

Next time I revisit platformers I'll keep that in mind, especially making sure everything is on camera

  • Good art. I especially liked the design of the enemies and the player.
  • The lighting added to the atmosphere of a dark forest you should avoid walking through.
  • The camera had some problems. In some parts I could barely see the danger below me, so I couldn’t know if there were spikes below me or if the hole I was standing next to would get me to a new area or kill me.
  • The level was impressively big for a jam game, especially for one that was made by one person.
  • I wish there was a timer and a dev time to give me a reason to replay the game again.
  • The game was a bit hard for me to control. The character was moving too fast for me and the wall jump was a bit clunky (but you didn’t have to use it much so it wasn’t a problem).
  • I loved the enemy head jump animation. It is really charming.

Overall, a good game. It is just a day of polish away from being great.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback.

I can't agree more with the last sentence, one day I'll manage to limit what I plan and really have time to polish it :)

Same here. I always tell myself I will start polishing my game early in the jam and not add that extra feature, but I never do.
