Love a good stealth game! The wolf highlight behind the trees was a nice touch and I liked slinking around without getting caught. There was one or two times where I thought I should be hidden in bushes but it still showed up red, but beyond that I’d happily play a bunch more levels of this. Good job!
I'm glad you liked it! The stealth is actually an overly complicated system where the lights, occluders and wolf are replicated to a subviewport so I can read exactly how illuminated the wolf is but I didn't have time to tune it properly. Definitely going to work on it more post jam.
First stealth game I've played as I've been going through the submissions, I liked it! I liked the addition of the knockout & drag mechanic. Controls could use a little adjustment or a settings menu to let us choose preferences, I wouldn't want walk/run on a toggle, but I *would* want dragging the body to be on a toggle (mostly just for ergonomics with the default keybinds). The story basis is a great idea for a stealth game, I'd be interested to see where you go with this!
Thanks for playing and the feedback. You're absolutely right that the controls need to be options, and I think for this game your preferred layout makes more sense than what I did; definitely will be fixed when I can update it. It's crazy how easy it is to get tunnel vision.
I made it to grandmas house and got caught 5 time! :)) at first did not get that wolf is going to be an assassin too! :))Nice little game.
I had a lot more gameplay and mechanics planned to help convey the story (like playing a red) but as I cut things for the deadline, I forgot to show the story in other ways. I'm glad you liked it, thanks for playing!
Nice game. It needs some animation, but there are some interesting mechanics. With a little more complex level design, to add that nice bit of difficulty. I would see it as a casual game for commuters ;)
I'm working on updates for all of that but hadn't thought to add onscreen controls; thanks for playing and the feedback!
Reminds me of the one flash game where they detect you and get alerted. I liked your take on the idea though, nice job!
I'm glad you liked it, thanks for playing!
I really liked it! Super cool mechanics of dragging the body away to the bushes. The game could use more levels and maybe some kind of animation or sound effect for pounding on the humans.
Thanks for playing! All those improvements are in the works, kicking myself for not at least doing a quick "thwack" but I supposes that's the nature of time pressure.
Very interesting. Could probably use more levels to exploit the mechanics, but what we got was super cool. I like how the music gets muffled when you enter bushes. Makes me feel actually stealthy and the game feel dynamic.
Also, you could have shown us getting to grandma's house, but I won't deduct that to your score 😜
Thanks for playing, more levels are on the way! Right after submitting, I did think that maybe 18 min I had left was enough to make a quick house but then thought I better not tempt fate.
As already said by others, but i still like to point this out: the music change when entering stealth is really cool.
Your sprites look amazing
the character is easy to control, i miss something like a "crunch" or knockout sound when you take someone out. This would make it more satisfying imo.
I'm glad you liked the sprites, this is essentially my first try at real pixel art instead of programmer prototype art. Your note on a KO sound effect is spot-on, I really should have thought of that. Thanks for playing!
It is a short but fun game. I liked the detail that the music changes its sound when entering stealth. Maybe the levels needed to be polished a little since some were very simple, but overall good job! :D
Thank you for the feedback. I had a lot more planned out, and even some other mechanics, but ran out of time. I really appreciate you giving it a try.
Nice game, although for the most part you can just sprint past the guards right in their vision and have enough time to get away, so I didn't need to hide nor attack them.
Yeah, these are basically just the tutorial levels, I didn't have time to do more complex ones and better tuning. I also wanted to track the number of hidden bodies since that's my favorite thing to do in stealth games. I'll be updating it with more challenging levels in the future. Thanks for playing and the feedback!
Great work! Loved the small details like the music change in the brush and the shader when fully / partially inside the brush (that or was it a sprite change?)
Thank you, the shader was suuuuuuch a paaaaain to get working but I was really bullheaded about wanting partial occlusion so it's nice to hear it called out.
Nice game! I especially like the detail that the music gets quieter when hiding!
Thank you! I felt like I spent too much time fiddling to get that working, and then almost accidentally submitted without music.
I really liked it. Like everybody else, just wish there were more levels that made better use of the mechanics.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I have more levels and mechanics in the works.
Fun game. I played it a few times and got a 35 second run. I wish it was longer and explored the mechanics more (But this is expected from a jam game. You only have so much time to make your game). A main menu and a replay button on the end screen would be nice, so you won't have to open and close the game page when you want to play again to try and get a better time. Over all, a good submission.
Yeah, the replay button was high on the list that I kept putting off because "it'll be super easy, I'll tackled this harder thing now" then forgot. I've got more content in the works, thanks again for playing!
Great game, only wish there was more as it felt I'd just learnt all the mechanics when the game ends
You and me both! I implemented more mechanics but didn't give myself enough time to test them all and design levels. I'll be updating it some when the ratings are done. Thanks for playing!
