Game Description
Moments after terraforming the new world, the human team went missing. Forge, exhausted of all resources, summoned its only remaining tool: a small Computerized Human Interface Program, to find them. If only it were made for this...
How does your game tie into the theme?
The main NPC is FORGE (Essentially an AI built into a 3D Printer) - the player interacts with FORGE to build components to a robotic exoskeleton to protect the fragile player, and allow him additional functionalities.

After managing to find all the groups, I sort of realized I never built anything other than the basic vehicle you build at the start, so I never really tested any modules out at all. My main issue (other than the camera being in too close) was there was no moment-to-moment gameplay other than driving; the enemies weren't quite threatening enough to need to engage with, and the combat itself was sort of a chore of drive-away-turn-around-shoot-drive-away. I loved the art, but a lack of audio gave me the silence heebee-jeebees. I would have loved some basic vroom-vroom sounds, a little ditty, and the people shouting for help in the distance.
I know it sounds like I'm tearing your game apart, I don't mean to. I DID like the writing and characters, I just felt like it was really close to something I would have enjoyed much more with a few small tweaks. All said, a great effort for just one week of dev, and congrats on finishing! Thanks for giving me a game to play :)
Thanks, and I 100% agree on all your points!
Enemies were one of the items I was furiously working on the last day of the jam, and it barely qualifies as one, but I think I have a bit better idea of the scope I can handle in 9 days now.
I'm planning to change the Body's to rotate to follow mouse movement after the game jam is over, as like you said, the combat is atrocious in its current state and I'm hoping that'll make it a lot better. That, or I'll fiddle with the movement overall.
Thank you so much for playing, I appreciate it!
it feels weird driving the car and maybe some vroom vroom sounds may also help, nice job!!
Will definitely add some after the jam is over ^_^ Thank you for playing!
The graphics were fun and simple, I liked that they came together well. It took a minute to get my vehicle built, but once I did I had fun drifting around in it. When I built my second vehicle, I couldn’t destroy my old one until I came back a few times and tried again, which sucked for getting all the modules tested. Overall it was a fun game! Nice work.
Thank you so much for playing!
I will definitely work on improving the overall incinerator feel - right now it only checks to make sure Chip isn't driving a vehicle On Area Enter, and never rechecks, so it's super fiddly >_<
I was super confused at first about how to enter the robot thing - I thought after I bought the gun attachment I would be able to press Q to enter it, but you have to make a complete robot to enter it at all! I feel like it would be more fun and more customisable if you were still able to enter the robot regardless, but the extra parts just improved its capabilities :) I think the camera could be zoomed out a bit when you're in the robot, because it's quite hard to get a sense of where you are - although I GREATLY appreciated the little compass marker that points you back to base!
The "Zoom out when in bot" was one of the features that were planned and I just didn't make in time - I was also planning little floating icons to show what was missing on an incomplete bots so it was hopefully more obvious why it wasn't working, but I definitely over-scoped the project ^_^;;
I like the idea of just being able to drive it regardless of it's completion state better, though. Maybe a button for toggling between "Construction" and "Driveable" modes? Or have a specific spot on the forge for driving in an unfinished robot to edit it? I may have to tinker with some more features after the jam's voting is over :)
Thank you so much for playing the game!
I WAS DRIFTING IN THAT LITTLE CAR! :D
Sorry for the slow reply, I really didn't know what to say, still don't really. Every time I read this comment it makes me smile. Thank you :-)
All humans rescued! Not sure if I was missing something though, couldn't find any resources after the parts the tutorial said to push into the forge, I could see some interesting looking green rocks that collided with the bullets but wouldn't take any dammage
Yep - the big green rocks were destroyable with the mining blaster, which I didn't finish including in the tutorial text - Certain Gear items have actives with Shift or Right Click (The Jet booster and the Mining Blaster)
Thank you for playing :-D
I'm excited to be able to update this again after the event is over so I can fix all the bugs that have been found lol
Fun game, nice to see an AI rescue humans instead of trying to kill us all!!! Nice way to bring in the forge with the vehicles.
Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you liked the forging and non-lethal AI XD
Fun to just haul around the map a bit! It did take me awhile to understand how to build the car, but once I understood how the forge worked, it was easy. Is there a button to enable sound in the game? I didn't get any while playing in the browser, but that may just be on my end
Nope, much to my chagrin I never got any of the sound into the game.
But thank you for playing :)
I love this game, for the fact that you get to forge your vehicle! Sadly I couldn't make a car cause I didn't have enough resources to build :(. After the jam add more base resources
Sorry about that - the last 4 hours of dev time were a blur, and one of the things I was supposed to do during that blur was add more resource nodes. T_T
In case you missed it (It's unclear as I didn't finish the art assets in time) the little red Godot icon on the bottom left of the forge will incinerate things and turn them back into resources if you shove things into it.
I'll have to learn to keep my scope a bit more reasonable next time around. ^_^;;
And thank you for playing it :-D
