I just get a black screen on macOS Monterey 12.6.1 when I launch this from the itch app. Has anyone else been able to get this running on macOS?

Be careful clicking on the splash screen on Windows computer. It caused the game to crash. Just let it load completely. Cool game. The controls feel off, but I think it has a lot of potential for improvement and be a really fun game. Gives me mechwarrior vibes.

Developer

haha, yeah the splash screen bug appeared live on stream earlier today :-D

Yes, next jam I'll make normal controls. Probably.

I guess it would have felt better it rhe legs rotated towards where you look when moving forward... It was a first day decision kind of thing, and was even worse a few hours before time was out. Then the camera rotated if the legs rotated. :S

Thanks for playing it!

Gotta love robot games. Interesting idea of purchasing the pieces. The enemies, the player, the ambient possesses some good looks, with some good animation with them

The work on models is pretty good! Great lighting as well! I was a little lost in this labyrinth and the robot had really janky controls, but overall I had a good experience!

Developer

Before the last commit, the controls were even worse :-D

Yes, the level design was very last minute. I should provably have scaled down the robot too. It felt a little crammed in the corridors. I used gridmap, which in many ways was awesome, but i had trouble boxselecting stuff...

Thanks for playing!

Great job! The visuals have a great style to them and the music fits the game very well. The music and sound effects really work well together to give a feeling of being in this big, cold, cramped factory. I had fun exploring around.

I initially was really confused by the controls (More than I probably should have been) and was turned off, but I actually think I like how you have them set up. It's an interesting combination of tank and mouse controls that I don't know if I've ever seen before, once your used to it it feels pretty natural.

It has a beautiful atmosphere and is very fun, congrats! Now I'm justing waiting for the pick up! ;)

Hah, wow! Thanks for playing, cool that you made it and beat the boss! And thank you for your kind words!

The graphics are impressive, although there was no framerate limit and looked kinda laggy. The controls were a bit janky, until you get used to it. The player sometimes got stuck in some edges, but I know that's something hard to work out, even more on the little time we had.

The music was relaxing and I liked the enemies and the boss. Good game overall!

Wow!

The graphics is cool. And music is there.

I can feel the atmosphere!

Maybe you can think of expanding the game to something bigger!

Good job!

Nice work! This one stood out to me whenever you shared WIP in the Discord server. I agree with Olvior about the movement controls, but it was fun to play once I got used to turning. Good application of the Thermometer wildcard too.

Thank you for playing it, and your kind words!

The controls are very 1990s, Doom 3D kind of feel. I stuck with the idea of being able to control the upper and lower body separately. But i hardly got used to it myself, so it was a terrible idea.

UI got very little love. Next game I'll try to make some nicer menus and HUD. I didn't quite get the hang of it this time. Maybe a little optimistic about what I could do in the given time frame. :)

Amazing job on the whole game! Everything feels snappy and love the sound design.

I enjoyed it.  good job.

Had a little trouble starting, cause it froze up on the splash screen twice, not sure why.

A couple things I would do that I think would be improvements,

The controls, maybe have the leg rotation gradually move towards the body rotations, so that you can steer with the mouse, and use A and D as strafing buttons, that may make the combat feel a little better.

the Elevators, if they just sensed what level you were on, and waited for you to get on before they activated... waiting on an elevator isn't fun.

Put some kind of flash or indicator on the thermometer.  For way too long I just thought I was taking damage to a glitch that seemed to happen when I was on the stairs.  I didnt realize I needed to buy the insulation until way late.

Overall really fun though!

Developer

Thank you!

I think the freeze thing happened to me once in the exported version too. I regret going with beta 1, it came with some issues, especially when it came to exporting the game.

These are all very valid points! I struggled with the UI a lot. I think I will need some "aha moments" with it before it gets better. And the controls... I always tend to do some weird shit with the controls, don't know why :)

Thank you so much for playing my game and giving good feedback!

They weren't bad by any means, did you ever play the old mech warrior games... they controlled just like that.

Very good entry. I liked the 3d graphics alot. Also I liked the little spider bots. they are really cool. The Mechanic with heat and freeze is cool and well executed. Good Job!!!
