Nice work! I love minigame collections and having multiple minigames you play at once is a really neat implementation. They work really well with the theme, too. I would've liked the UI to be a little tighter so it was easier to keep track of the different meters at one time, but once I took it out of fullscreen I had a much easier time. Also pretty impressive that the twist totally got me even though I knew there was one coming, lol. Congrats on completing your first jam, too!
Thank you for your feedback! The UI is definitely not my greatest work but I’m glad you were still able to have a good time. :P
I’m happy to hear that the twist caught you off guard. :)
For a first-time Jam solo project this is a really impressive game! And as a long-term KSP player and space fan in general, I welcome the theme of your game. Thank you for this entry, enjoyed playing it.
Thank you for your compliments and for checking out the game!
This was immersive! The mini games were fun in between keeping you focused. I would enjoy something bigger and longer in this style as well. Maybe the mini games could connected each other somehow. Like you can only hit the nail with hammer when the temperature is right. Good job!
Thank you for your feedback about the game and for your idea for future developments! I’m still in the brainstorming phase right now so I have not yet decided where or if I will take this game. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to check out my game! :)
Touching story. Great job! Especially for your first game jam! So glad you participated, I cant wait to see what you come up with next time!
Thank you for trying out the game and the compliments! I’m glad you enjoyed the short story!
Nice little story paired with an interesting combination of mechanics! Simple but effective. Good job on implementing a complete experience.
Thanks for checking out my submission and glad to hear you liked it!
I love how similar our games are in terms of mechanics! You need to teach us how you did the "hold temperature between certain degrees", we were originally planning on doing that but couldn't figure out a way to do it within the timeframe!
I love how you have designed this game. On my first playthrough, I was multitasking trying to keep the temp going while building the parts and it was a lot of fun switching between the two. However on my second playthrough, I realised I didn't actually have to do them simultaneously which was a bit of a disappointment. I could work on 1 task and finish the other one later. I think it'd be great if you had implemented a way so you can't build the part (click space) until the temp was within the zone. It would've added just a nice little layer on top of what you had already! (in my opinion)
Otherwise, great game! Espeically for your first Godot game and being solo!
This was the first gaming mechanic that I implemented. Not sure if it was the best way or not (probably not :P) but I got it done and then moved on. Will reach out on Discord when I get a chance.
Yeah, the game is very easy. I had a timer in mind to somewhat “force” the multitasking but I scratched that due to time constraints.
I did have the idea of “layered tasks” or the combination one that you described (cannot “build” unless the temperature is correct) and other mini-games but…well, you can see those too did not materialize unfortunately. :S
I’m thinking of fleshing out the game (though it may be in a different direction) but I really like the story here so I do want to polish it and re-release it in a better and/or different form.
Thank you for taking the time to try it out and for your feedback! :)
I enjoyed the multitasking elements and the story was shot but sweet. Also liked making a WIDE ROCKET
As long as it gets to Mars, I don’t think the space agency is not going to complain. ;)
Thanks for trying out the game and I’m glad to hear that you liked the story!
Neat plot twist and minigames, quite enjoyed multitasking them. And thanks for sharing that it doesn't play on non-chromium browsers.
Good job
Thanks for your feedback and I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed the plot twist. :)
I will make a note to try and export to all three operating systems as well next time as I see that the HTML5 one can be a bit finnicky.
Simple game but really compelling story!
The multitasking minigame was an interesting idea. Also I really liked the cover art!
Good job!
Thank you for your feedback and for trying out the game! I’m glad to hear that you liked the story. :)
Haha, very fun game, this reminds me of a board game I played where you had to multitask. This is compelling enough, good work!
Which board game are you thinking of? I love board games! :)
Did you mean something like Kitchen Rush?
It's a game called Stay Cool! Look it up, I'm sure you'd like it!
The game froze for me right when the text said :' The final assembly of the rocket has now begun '
Love how very simple gameplay elements made it stressful yet fun! Quite an experience with the story as well, you took the saying : "less is more" literally. Great job ! (A simple question if you mind :) , how did you achieve the screen size in itch ? Does your project window setting had a fixed size of 1920x1080 ? Or it only depends on the HTML5 export settings ? )
Oh, sorry to hear that it froze for you. :( But you mentioned you enjoyed the story…were you able to get to the ending after a restart? :P
For my Godot settings, I will share with you what I can. I am using Godot 4 beta 11.
I didn’t do anything special in the HTML5 settings and on itch.io, I put the viewport dimensions as 480x270 and enabled the fullscreen button.
Hope that helps!
For sure, I wanted to see how you implemented the plot twist wildcard, and I got to say it was unexpected and sad at the same time ... Twist is better than most modern movies twists i my opinion. Thanks a ton for sharing the settings it really helped a ton, have a lovely day my savior <3
Thank you for your compliments about the story!
And good luck with your next project! :)
Thank you for your careful review and feedback for the different mechanics of the game!
The instructions in general are definitely a little lacking. The rocket being able to be launched whenever you feel like is a known bug though at least it is a humourous bug to see a rocket launched with different disparate pieces.
I did have other construction mechanics in mind but ultimately could not flesh them out.
You are correct that the art is not cohesive as I took freely available assets from different places to piece the game together.
As to the story, if you are interested I can explain it to you on Discord privately. I think with more art and story lines this would be conveyed more clearly. Thank you for that feedback!
Very simple but effective, definitely a solid product for the short timeline.
PS: I liked the ending.
Thanks for your kind words and I’m glad to hear that you liked the ending. :)
What a fine take on building a rocket mechanic!
Such a simple control but challenging inside the game.
SFX are in place.
Good job!
Thank you for the feedback and for trying the game!
I originally had a timer mechanic to give the player a sense of pressure but that ultimately did not happen. Maybe for a future iteration… :)
What an interesting concept!! Well done in such a short time!
Thank you for the compliment and for trying out the game!
The gameplay may be a bit simple, but still innovative and this is the most immersive game i have tested on this jam. Really good for such a short amount of time ! Keep making games you're good at it :D
Thank you for trying out the game and for the generous feedback!
I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed the feeling of immersion that this game offered! I had a different flow to the story initially but felt it might give the ending away so I opted for what is in the uploaded version instead. I’ve been thinking about refining and fleshing this game out and your feedback is definitely pushing me more in that direction. Thank you!
A nice concept, I liked the assembly period of the game where you have to match temperature and the right spot to assemble components. However, the flaw is that it wasn't immediately obvious how it exactly worked, and how would you do so.
Like the others said, game volume is a bit loud and should probably include a slider for volume or something.
Thank you for your feedback and for trying out the game! I will be sure to make things clearer with visual icons and/or textual prompts in my future projects. As to the audio issues, I have updated the page with a warning and I hope others will see it before they boot up the game.
This game is very clever. I really like the concept! Only thing I would say is there's a ton of text, and it wasn't immediately intuitive how the gameplay worked, but for a first submission, this is pretty stellar! One thing to note: on your master bus for sounds/music, you should probably reduce the over decibel level by maybe 10 or so - the game is very, very loud.
Hi, thank you very much for your feedback!
