i really like the lighting and the sounds. It took me a little while to realise i could climb across the ceiling but once i did it made life much easier. Collected all 9 in 2:04 (easy/ small settings i think). I like that you've shared the seed used for the map with the player so that i can send the seed to friends for them to do the same map.
This was great fun.. the web build crashed for me after completing one cave though. I just restarted and played again -- otherwise all was smooth. Solid submission that's for sure!
The issue with the crashing after the level is a known issue, and is fixed on my local. It isn't crashing, per se, but let's just say I made a change to the pause mode of a node without testing it, and it ended up affecting the win screen as well.. Found the issue after submission, but figured it wasn't necessarily game-breaking, since it didn't show up until after the level was complete, so I just called it out in the comments of the page.
Thank you for your feedback!
It was really fun to play.
Me: I hate plaformers, they are always to hard, require fast reflexes and have no tutorials, levels are too large etc. etc.
This Game: Hold my beer
Thank you so much for catering for crappy gamers like me!
I appreciate the feedback. I am not a pro gamer in any sense, so I make sure to account for those like myself, but not make it too easy. This entry definitely needs some improvement in that area, but it was developed with that as a core guidance.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Very fun game! I liked the movement options and the simplicity of it. Opening up the area of light around the player might help make it feel a little more fair too.
Thank you for your feedback! The lighting is definitely something I need to play around with more. If I follow up on this, I will definitely keep that in mind.
Solid mechanics
Thank you for your feedback!
This game has a lot of potential!
The map generation is really nice, and the player having the moves they do makes navigating them a lot of fun!
Spikes resetting the player's progress entirely though feels super harsh, especially on the larger maps. The tutorial constantly interrupting and covering my screen was also a bit annoying, but nothing a few tweaks cant fix. My only other real issue with the game was that the player's vision is way too small.
Overall though, this was a pretty solid submission! I'd love to see it expand in the future!
Thank you for your feedback! The hard resetting was definitely something I found I didn't like with the bigger maps while doing my last testing, but I just ran out of time to address it. I have some ideas on how I can do this, and definitely plan on expanding this concept post-ranking. This was one of the most involved games I have made, and I was able to try out many new things, which was exciting!
I liked the music choice and treasure-hunting theme of this game. The tutorial was appreciated, and it did a great job walking me through all the actions the character can do + adding flavor to the game. I also liked how versatile the moveset is for the character (you can wall-jump, hang off ceilings, etc.), which makes the character really feel like a treasurer hunter.
The limited visibility did hamper my enjoyment of this game. I know it was intended to give the game a more treasurer-hunting atmosphere, but it made the platforming a bit difficult for me. It also felt a bit punishing that hitting the spikes once reset all your progress on the level.
Overall I enjoyed trying the game out!
Thank you for your feedback! I can definitely see how the lighting could be improved. It was a bit new to me for this game, so still on the learning side. With that said, it will definitely take a priority in the next iteration, along with improved respawning.
