As usual great work and stunning visuals John!

Very nice pixel art and your most beautiful jam game so far. You also did a great job on the music. The gameplay however suffers from a bit sturdy controls and the challenges don't feel very engaging. Some element that rewards the player for completing them may be a good idea for the Post Jam update you are probably doing :)

Developer

Thank you very much, Dalton, but I can't take any credit for the music; it's Kevin MacLeod. Should've made that obvious.

With regards to a lack of engagement, is that because the only reward for beating a level is getting to the next one?

I haven't decided on whether or not I'm doing a post-jam version quite yet... but that hasn't stopped me from coming up with a list of changes if I were to. One of them was to add a world map, and make levels feature more like Mario 64; so getting 100% would entail beating every level on every mode. Would that sense of progression help to make the game more engaging?

Yes certainly! A world map would give me an idea what's there to explore, a goal to reach and a feel of progression. I think it's a good solution

Congratulations, the look of the game is dazzling and you did a good job in balancing the challenges, I had some control problems at first, but it was only to change the commands to one that is more comfortable for me and everything went perfectly.

Every aspect of this game is very solid. The result is amazing.

Although I think a parallax background in some parts of the levels could bring some feeling of depth in the scenary it is not a bad result to have this sensation of closure with the simple one.

Great Job!

Man,  Congratulations, this game is awesome. The soundtrack is amazing. Really great stuff.

heheheh, I appreciate a lot that you kept the moonwalk mechanic :D

Holy moly what a game.

This is a really solid experience, gameplay, design, audio... the lot. Super proud of you, it is almost impossible to believe it was made in a week. (Except some of the art and so on, I know.)

If there was only one thing I could ask for, it would be to be able to change the curse of the level after dying. It was frustrating trying to do some of these on only one hit haha...

And the final level was BRUTAL.

GOOD JOB

Thanks so much for playing; I'm really glad you enjoyed it.

I do wonder whether I went too far on the last couple of levels; I wanted, of course, to raise the stakes, but additionally, I want everyone to be able to see all the content.

Incidentally, you can choose a different curse by selecting "Restart Level" on the pause screen. Maybe I should've made that more clear.
