One of the better submission I have played and for middle school students very impressive. Bright future ahead

Developer

Thank you, they tried their best :)

I actually really enjoyed this! Was interesting and engaging all the way through and had a fun and challenging final boss! Hope everyone in the team had a blast making this :)

Developer(+1)

Yup, all of the kids were pretty excited. That was their first game :)

Good job! I liked the cutting animation it fells good.

Developer(+1)

Thats the only thing that has a little polish XD Thank you!

Very cool and simple game!

I liked the little haiku-esque quips after each level, and the subtle incorporation of the words “Less” and “More” to instructional texts!

One small note: the fullscreen setting should really be a toggle button, not a slider 😆

It is amazing that a middleschool team made this! Well done students! And for the teacher: You are super cool for making a game with your students😎!

Developer

Thank you so much, we didn't have the time to polish and beta test the game at all. We could have done it even better but the result is nice even now :)

Ooh, okay, that's a really cool game. Very simple, but also very fun!

And I really gotta applaud you for making games with your students, I wish I had a teacher like this when I was in middle school! :P

For some small criticism - font color. Both in game and especially on the page - it's really hard to read for me (though, to be fair, might be because I'm slightly colorblind).

Developer(+1)

Good point, I haven't considered picking colours based on colour blindness. I should probably look a bit into it and learn the required palettes.

This is a middle-school team? That's amazing.

Developer

Yup, we all tried our best :) Thank you

Love the artistic aspect the most! Nice entry

Developer

Thank you! :D

Great submission to the jam!

You used simple but engaging mechanics to tell a story and introduce new gameplay elements! The art was great, the character controller felt pretty good, and the final boss was pretty challenging!

Overall, great entry to the jam and a good interpretation of the prompt!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed the game, wish we had more time for the coding part and had the time for beta and polish. As it is, there is very little polish atm :)

Good game, very simple concept, well executed with some good lines! It was a bit hard to know exactly what do do, how many dashes you wanted us to do or if we were limited on time or something, but I guess it's part of the experience to find out, every decisions have a meaning and count! Good job

Developer

We tried to keep the info to a minimum too, as less is more. In the end there is nothing a little trial and error can't fix :)

Submitted

This is such great concept. Excellent work!

My only complaint is I wish I could move a little faster to line up dashes, but that's probably just me being impatient.

Developer

It was intended to have different endings depending on the time/dash count, so having a slower walk pace is intended.

Ty for playing :)

I like. very fun 😁😁😁😁😁

Thank you for playing :)

Nice game! ^^

Developer

Thank you :)

I like it it's fun game, I enjoy dashing :)

Developer(+1)

Wish we had more time to implement more juice :D

Very nice atmosphere. I felt a bit confused about the dash, I had to click multiple times for it to register, or maybe it was limited how often I could do it?

The haikus between the levels were a lovely touch and put a smile on my face!

Developer(+1)

The dash has one second cooldown, the bottom left part shows if dash is available or not. I wanted to put a progress bar for it but didn't have the time for polish.

Haiku's are fun :)

Nice game, i liked the setup made with few elements. It's matching the theme.

Developer

Dashing and hitting multiple enemies is definitely satisfying. Glad you found it matching the theme :)

Submitted

Great game, the dash is a lot of fun to use, and the art style and theming are nice.

Developer

Our games have similar concepts but different takes on it, Good luck to you :)

Fantastic game, loved it! It was just so fun dashing and trying to get as many obstacles as you can at once. Simple but elegant design, I would have definitely played more levels if it had them.

The result it showed me at the end didn't seem to be mine since it showed only 1 dash and 200 or so seconds which is definitely much better than what I had haha

Very charming and fun game, great job!

Developer(+1)

That's a bug I noticed at literally 3 minutes left till deadline so didn't have the time to fix it. Considering I was pretty occupied with non game-dev life, I couldn't have enough polish or even a beta test.

Glad you enjoyed it tho :)

I loved it, simple, last is more and had some dialog there, nice game!

Haikus are easy

But sometimes they don't make sense

But in all seriousness, nice game!!
