Reminds me of another game I tried earlier "Dice with Death" (the one with the skeleton hand holding a die) but in that game you have to read their physically animated tells. As another person pointed out in the reviews, seeing the opponents pool kinda makes not as interesting since i can just win by always betting higher against the guy who only has 1s etc. Otherwise the game itself is is pretty decent and i haven't even mentioned how amazing the art is. really good work!
Certainly enough, they're rather alike!
Here's the thing: As you progress, the enemies' dice become partially or completely hidden. Then, when they roll a die, it reveals one or more dice with the same number in their pool. Perhaps hiding them all from the get-go would be a better approach? Or would you have them hidden permanently? Would like to hear what you think! Thanks a lot for the feedback!
I really love your art style and game idea, cute and super enjoyable. This is one of the most amazing games ive played yet, freaturing the jams theme.
Love the style!
The combat system reminded me of the prisoner's dilemma and I think it has a lot of potential. The way it works right now though, with the player being able to see all the faces of the enemy's dice, makes it so that most of the time there's a move that's objectively correct, in that it gives you the most chance of dealing damage. I think the game would be more interesting if it forced you to think about your opponent's intention and required you to call their bluffs instead of being about calculating percentages. I think it would play great as a card game, but it currently feels more like a math problem
