How does your game fit the theme?
I interpreted the theme as a metaphor for "the odds" being for or against you. Try to control "fate" and prevent the asteroids from plummeting towards your planet. Hit the "Dice Clusters" to activate a random effect.

Hitting an asteroid with a just right timed shot feels really satisfying. Nice work!

Fun gameplay, felt very satisfying when shooting the asteroids. Solid work.

Pretty well polished  but I feel the gameplay could be tuned more such as having the rotation a little fast or the laser fire rate faster to let the player feel really good a little longer before ramping up the difficulty. Fun game overall!

That was really fun! At first it felt like everything was going too fast, but I really got into a groove with it after a while. Loved it!

This was an oddly relaxing game. The visuals, audio and even gameplay really put me in a zen mood. Aside from that, I think it was a fun game and an easy time-waster. Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the game! You're the first person to call it relaxing, but I'll take it! 😂

Very nice minimalistic aesthetic and visual clarity. I like the orbiting mechanics of the asteroids, even though I was pretty terrible at aiming! A very challenging but enjoyable game!

Fun game! Things really get out of control quickly if you don't shoot the asteroids early! The orbiting mechanic was well done, and the red threat indicator was a great addition :) Great stuff

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah the idea was that the better the player could do early on, the "better" the odds would be the more the game goes on, in theory there's less chance of asteroids crashing into each other when there are less of them.

If I ever need to protect earth I will be listening to your soundtrack

I found it on Pixabay. Originally was going to be a placeholder but seemed to work really well!

Simple, yet entertaining, although probably for not too long. Still a solid game for a game jam

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Solid game! Many impressive details and very fair (yet challenging) difficulty. Feels great every time you pull off a trick shot

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the shooting mechanics!

Nice game! liked the idea of floating boosters, fair difficulty and the warning red arc is definitely super useful for prioritization!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah I originally added the red arc because in the early stages of development I would often get asteroids plummet from outside the screen and it ended up working well either way.

Really cool game it looks amazing! I think it was a bit far from the theme however it was a fun game non the less that could easily be a published tower defense / idle game! =D

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I purposefully tried to stay away from making it explicitly "dice"-based, but instead used "roll of the dice" as a metaphor for "the odds" being in your favour / against you. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Like asteroids, but the addition of orbital mechanics is a fun twist.  Orbital mechanics are always fun (and have been ever since the dawn of computer games), and I've never encountered this particular variation before.

The difficulty seems fair.  I like the visual warning when an asteroid is potentially going to come dangerously close.  Overall, this is a fun and well-executed game.

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the game!

Much like my own submission, I feel the game doesn't really live off of the theme, but it's there and the randomness does add a nice touch to the gameplay. It definitely wouldn't hurt to maybe throw a couple of BGM tracks to cycle through or just have an option to mute it.

Game design wise, I felt myself wishing I could just use my mouse to aim, but I understand locking it to A / D and controlling the speed the player can turn to fire at increases difficulty.

Overall, good little weekend game jam project, simple and executed well.

Developer

Thank you very much for the feedback! I made the decision not to use the mouse as this seems to negate the point of the asteroids plummeting towards the planet (and subsequently timing the shockwave); you are correct though, the game is purposefully made to be more challenging because of this. I definitely agree with your point about the music, but did not get around to doing anything more with it in the allocated time.

I'm glad you enjoyed the game!
