This is such a cool and satisfying movement mechanic... when it works. Don't get me wrong, I had fun and the level design allow for some cool moves (especially with 3's and 4's) but I think I'd enjoy it more if it wasn't for the "randomness". I know, that this was the point and it's the theme of the jam, but I think you've got a cool game underneath that is being held back by the semi-random movement. I know, that the move depends on the side on which the player landed previously, but you still need some luck (like you mentioned in the wall jump section ;)).

A very accessible game which I manage to complete without struggling! It's good to see platform-like games that are not all about hard and punishing gameplay. This game was honestly quite relaxing to me! The only aspect I didn't fully understand is wall jump, because I was able to climb walls just by spam-clicking upwards. That was not bad at all to me, but probably not intended haha!

I had fun playing this game. It is simple, there is a good dynamic and a nice concept. Levels were not too simple nor too difficult, and they are adapted to the core mechanic of the game. More levels would have been nice of course, but it is better to have only two well designed than several redundant ones. The ability to keep the same face if we do not jump too high is interesting too. All the basis for a good game. With some more level, a bit of juice (visual effects, level ending sound, death sound,,...) and some additional mechanics (moving platforms,...), it would be perfect :D  Thanks for the game !

Thank you so much for the comment! You are definitely right, there are a lot of addition that could have been made. I even thought about adding moving platforms and maybe some sort of enemy with AI but since this is my first jam, I didn't want to push my luck too hard. I will do my best to make jam entries with much more content in the future :)

Of course, as for our game (Trolling the Dice), we aimed to make it small to be sure to finish it. What a mean (it is my comment here above) is that your game is full of potential to make it even better, with more time :D And right now, it is still really enjoyable ;-)

Pretty good game, lovely pleasant music that wasn't frustrating but enough energy to keep you motivated. The parkour up the walls was difficult but I actually really liked the concept with a bit of refinement. This was a really solid submission! Great job!

Thank you so much for the comment! You are definitely right, wall jumps are a little difficult, after the jam is over completeley, I will try to update the game to make the wall jumps feel a little better :)

Thanks for the comment, I was planning to add dices with more sides so that there would be more variation, but couldn't do it in time :)

The die keep the same face if it does not jump high enough. With face one, you have to jump vertically to roll the die. I like this mechanic :-)

Yeah, there is an invisible circle around  the dice, while that circle is in contact with a surface, dice doesn't roll so that it doesn't throw itself around once it starts spinning :)

Kept crashing on me :(

Developer

Hey thanks for letting me now, is there any other information regarding this crash?

I would just get to the first wall jump segment and it would freeze then crash

Developer

I am uploading a 32 bit version alongside the 64 bit version, other than that I have absolutely no idea what could be the reason :(
