This is a great game! I love the puzzle gameplay it has and how it rewards quick thinking and planning while also being random. And the art style is really pleasant!
Glad you enjoyed it! Ironically, I thought that the art I did was probably the weakest part of the game, glad you liked it despite that! I’m working on a graphical upgrade now that should serve to make the game more readable while keeping the important parts of the style.
I like the art style. The look of the tokens in the grid is what initially drew me to try the game out. I found the actual gameplay a bit hit and miss. I wasn't sure if I should be playing purely for speed or if I should be trying to make big patterns (I think speed is the way to go now). It feels like there could be more depth to the puzzling e.g. a way for there to be combos to reward planning ahead. Interesting concept though and well executed.
Thanks for playing, and thanks for your feedback! Personally, I think that the ability to choose between playing for speed and playing for larger connections is a plus for this game as it allows for greater player expression through gameplay. I can understand how that can be confusing, and it will be an interesting thing to balance in my post-jam version. I may implement some sort of combo system, but I am going to stray away from one that only benefits those who play for speed.
Very fun game! Liked the art style and music!
Nice gameplay idea and good execution on the concept, the only problem I have is I didn't know when the ennemie would attack is it by a timer or is it based on the amount of turn you take? The small preview of the 2 enxt move was a nice touch.
Thanks for playing! Enemies attack on a timer, you can see (albeit not very well) the blue bar beneath their health bar filling up slowly. I plan on making that more visible.
the gamplay loop was really good and the art and audio were on-point. Great entry:))
Thanks for playing, glad you liked it!
I really enjoyed it! If you have a tutorial or story that explains the plot the game would be really better! But I really liked it!
BEST OF LUCK:)
P.S. Check out our game too.
Music kept hooked, gameplay was fun. I never did quite understand what why I did damage sometimes and other times did not. Overall it was a cool concept and well executed. Good Job!
Glad you enjoyed it!
I suppose it requires a bit more explanation, clearing pieces gives power, and getting 100 power causes you to attack. I didn’t want attacks to constantly occur as it would draw attention away from the main playfield too often.
Pretty fun game! I do agree with some other reviews that I didn't have a real sense of progress being made, but after playing for a while the overall core loop became clear. Lots of strategy involved, but I wish I knew more about what the enemy was doing, especially if a line of mine is going to be blocked. Overall an awesome concept! Great effort!
I have the feeling that the game is designed around dice as the core mechanic. The art and music is nice and makes the game much more enjoyable.
To further enhance the game I would like to see an easier visual element that shows if a connection attacks or just adds mana.
Thanks for playing! I agree on your point regarding making it clear whether an attack hits the threshold or not. I will consider that for the potential post-jam version.
Fun, challenging game. Definitely felt like there was a depth to it. Wish the game jam theme was a little more present tho. Over all great job!
Thanks for playing! I can understand why you think the jam theme isn’t very present, I kinda wanted the game to be at least some degree removed from the theme, so the only dice are the ones that determine attack damage. I’d say it becomes a bit more involved when you choose the spear as your weapon, then you really feel like your fate is in the hands of the dice roll.
This was incredible! KEPT ME ON EDGE the whole time! READ THE INSTRUCTIONS on this one! WORTH!
Once you get the hang of it its a lot of fun. I like how theres no limit to how fast you can place things so you can get better and better.
Fun, but it felt a bit slow. Additionally, some of the UI such as the power meter was hard to read
I can understand that, I’ll see if I can come up with a cleaner, more readable design for a potential post-jam version.
I like the art! I didn't realize I could rotate the blocks for way to long lol
really liked the pixel art and the choice of weapons for those that are harden veterans and others that are playing it for the first time
