Your average rank is #50 in GMTK 2025! Congrats!

Here is the link with all the rankings:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1pcYEGvaHF3y30mMEWwywmkRd2FCpo-u3_ZFpPFSo...

I felt bad that there is no average score, because some teams aimed for all categories, not just one. So I just scrapped the results page and made a table. I agree with "Mark" that "Overall" is questionable, but I still think "Average" is a valuable score, so I decided to share it.

Developer

Thank you for doing this!

I was actually wondering where the "overall" / "average" rank was this year.
With more voting categories this time, I can see why they didn't want to add an overall ranking. It would penalize games without narrative too much, for example.

Anyway, I'm glad to see we ranked this high on average!

It is a fun game and it gets harder in a good way , W game

Awesome take on the simon-like games! I loved how some of the minor details brought harmony between the theme and the gameplay: being on the lookout for the discounts (although I’m not sure I really needed them? Just like real life ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), trying not to bump into everything when I binge-buy (felt like an actual supermarket run indeed).
I nearly got owned by dropping a necessary item behind the shopping list and then not being able to grab it again, and I experienced some stuttering and noticed flashing artifacts during the transition that hindered my immersion, but well I would not have noticed if the rest was not so polished.

Wonderful job!

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Although discounts are not needed, they can be really useful to abuse the hint system if you forget too many things!
Unfortunately, we realized there were some performance issues with the web version, but we couldn't fix them in time.

Despite all this, I'm glad you liked the game. Thank you again!

What a fun and cohesive experience! The take on the theme is brilliant, the physics on top makes it chaoticly adorable! Top marks for me!

Props to the itch page and the overall polish!

Thank you!
And congrats on achieving such a high rank with Stereomancer! It was really fun, 100% deserved!!

Brilliant use of the theme! It's like a word memorization game and gets progressively more chaotic as you try to remember each item. The physics based interactions are the cherry on top. The fact that you also have to pull the list up to view it also adds to the chaos. The aesthetics are so well executed, those transitions!! (Edit: The water in the water bottle moves?!) And I love the breakbeat that starts playing when you're low on time, it almost sounds like Windmill Isle Day from Sonic Unleashed, especially with those bossa nova chords haha. Excellent submission, congrats!!!

Developer(+1)

Sorry for hijacking your comment but... Yes, the water in the bottle moves!! It also works for the soda.
Paul was so adamant about having this feature hahaha. Fortunately, he implemented quickly and it looks pretty cool!

I took a listen, and you're right, they do sound similar in a way!

Thank you!!

"I went to the shops and I bought...."

Who knew childhood camping games would prep me for this very specific game jam entry? :D

Really enjoyed the art style, super polished feel and narrative. Great vibes all round!

Developer

Hahaha, it's funny because I didn't know this version of the game existed.
Where I'm from, it's often called the "suitcase" game, where you pack things for a trip.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!

I wish I could give 6 stars for the visuals. And the music. And all the other categories :)

Developer

Thank you!! :D

Perfect game! My only thought is honestly nitpicking but I think you got the genders backwards. Wouldn't it make more sense narratively if husband was sent to the grocery store and he had to remember what he was told to buy? Particularly for this time period I think the traditional roles would see the woman totally in charge of the shopping list, so she would just know what she wanted to buy. Either way, congrats on a great entry!

Developer

Thank you!

Yes, I see your point.
I think we came up with the idea for the game without the husband in the first place.  That's why we chose this approach initially.  Then later in the project, we discussed it, and we decided not to change everything in the end. Anyway, I still think it works well this way.

Thanks!
Such is the life of a "Hi Honey" player... I'm sorry. I hope you find someone better soon!!!

HOW IS THIS SO POLISHED?! It looks so clean and the controls are immaculate. The music and sounds are so satisfying and fit with the aesthetic theme of the game so well! (My husband divorced me but I had fun!)

Developer(+1)

Thank you!
We prefer to aim for a "simple" idea, and try to polish it as much as possible, so I'm glad you like it!

Really fun and super polish !! I really like how the mecanic fits into your theme ! It's really clever.

I hope I will learn to made game as polish as yours :D

Thank you for your kind words :)

This is insanely polished, I absolutely loved the concept and the implementation and everything else about the game!

I didn't expect the bottles to break haha lasted 11 days. Hat a lot of fun with the game, loved the physics, and it looks very pretty and polished.

Developer

Thank you!
Unfortunately, I fear a lot of players lost only because they broke a bottle :'(
Glad you liked it anyway!!

Submitted

Haha thankfully my losing was only to my memory problem, I usually managed to snag the second bottle after breaking the first one!

A very creative and stylish game with a good message. I'm a fan of the game's aesthetics. The gameplay and sound effects were also satisfying! My only issue was that sometimes I wasn't able to recognize the product by its picture, some icons or tips would help.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

I totally get you, it's sometimes hard to recognize a product by its picture.
We were thinking of telling the players the product name when they get something wrong. That way, you can learn to associate names with pictures through trial and error. Sadly, we were short on time and this didn't make it.
