Fun game! Couldn't beat the third level, but you really showed what you could do with a simple core concept and some iteration.

Developer

No shame in not finishing. I'm glad that you even got to level three and that you liked it!

Fantastic Game

Full points for style, ejoyment and creativity.

3rd level was absolutely bonkers! Genius puzzles you made with so few building blocks :)

Developer

Oh wow! Thank you for the praise =D
I am thrilled that you liked it so much!

Really fun game! The lack of air control does make some of the more precise platforming sections very frustrating, but the puzzle design is really intuitive. I did spend a few minutes trying to do the wrong thing on the second level, but as soon as I figured it out my reaction wasn't "fuck that, that's bullshit" it was "I can't even be mad, that's actually a really fun solution to that puzzle" which can be a really hard balance to strike in this type of game

Developer

Aw thanks for playing and for the positive feedback!
And yes I do agree that the precision jumping platform like aspect likely would have been better without. I see now a few way to minimize the need for precise jumping. to keep the focus on what to scale and to what degree to move on

The idea is super fun, and I had fun trying the game. The puzzles could use a bit fine tuning and I also gave up on the 2nd level. Overall an okay jam game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing and rating :)
Yeah I was thinking that a timed hint system could be nice to have. But, I prioritized making a level 3 instead X)

I have no idea how to complete the 2nd level :D Interesting concept though. I agree the motion blur makes it really hard to play, but that's an easy fix of course.

Developer

No shame in that, sometimes the puzzle just fits, and sometimes it misses :)
Thanks for playing! and yeah the frustrating blur [facepalm]

The concept was great! As someone who also submitted an Unreal Engine game, I understand how easy it was to miss the motion blur issue. Although it must be frustrating that you didn't think to test the shipped game first! That being said, I pushed through the nausea and got pretty far up the tower and thought the game was quite fun :> lots of potential there (feels a bit like the Witness a bit).

Developer

Aw, thanks man and good going :)! And yeah, you are definitely right. I was just so focused on other stuff, up until the last minute. - it's my first Game Jam submission :)

Great work for your first submission, you should be proud of yourself!

Developer

thanks =)

I really struggled to play much more than up to the end of level 2.

The motion blur set as high as it is, and the lack of any in-air movement, made navigating quite nauseating.

I'd love to take another stab at this with no blur and a more reactive character controller as the puzzles looked to have promise!

Developer (1 edit)

Oh my.. I just now realized that I could turn the bloody Motion blur off, it's just a standard setting that I did not notice myself. As it was not as bad in the editor version, as it is in the package. Thanks for pointing it out. Thanks for trying the game :)

I will upload a fixed version when I can.

Submitted

I don't think you can upload a fixed version? Packages a locked and the rules say you will be disqualified if you try to tell people to use a newer version in the description.

Developer

agreed, but after the jam in case anyone would come here after that XD

Submitted

Yeah true. Good idea to do after the jam ends.

my laptop sounds barely alive as i played it (though tbf my laptop sucks) and that along with the nauseating motion blur made just moving around not very fun. the puzzles themselves, however, were interesting
I can definitely see the goal here, and with a bit of focus towards polish and a bit more style it seems like it could be a fun way to pass some time

Developer

I will have to agree that the "motion blur" is by no means a wanted effect. It did not show in the editor mode, but for some yet unknown reason was in the packaged product.
Thanks for the  comment, and try of the game. again, also great job with your own, I am still impressed with mow much you managed to make!
