I never thought that being a bureaucrat was so fun...

Heart, please.

And that guy went around in circles to end up in hell XDXDXD I like how fun the certificates are.

The graphics are good, as is the music, I liked the game.

The only thing I had trouble with was that the cursor is very big and I didn't know where to click, it covered too much area.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and I'm doubly happy you liked Smendes! I've had a couple of people mention that about the cursor. Definitely something that I'll be mindful of in future since it's not super clear that its the round end and not the pointy end that is the cursor point.

I love this take on the theme. I would have liked to see the scales react properly, instead of just showing a color indicator. Other than that, great job!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I just realised that it somehow never occurred to me to make the scales move haha. The indicator was there from the earliest draft when it wouldn't even have been that hard for me to make a moving scale

I love the theme of the game + the art and aesthetics . Well done !

Best of luck !

It is really funny to me that both of us saw the theme and independently went "yep, weighing of the heart time"

I had a ton of fun with this one! The Papers Please inspiration is pretty on the nose, but the Egyptian mythological flavor along with all the little touches of personality were very memorable. I particularly enjoyed the crimes and virtues - and I also wanna give you 5's in everything for "auto-ma'at-ic"!

This was a super fun game! Out of all of the scale (weight) related games I've played, it might be my favourite because I'm partial to the egyptian theming. I love all the mythological flavor within it! Congrats for completing the jam!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed it! If you liked this one, there are I think 6 or 7 other Egypt themed scale games this jam that I think you'll enjoy too.

Fun game and kept the stress piling, manually putting weighs was fun idea and checking documents lead to situation where I didn't even weigh the heart, just tossed it to shredder. Lost it when hammer came to picture, great job all in all :D

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it and I'm happy you liked the hammer bit haha!

Absolute joy to play. Super fun, very addicting and packed to the brim with charm. Laughed several times at the dialogue. Was an honor to contribute to the game in a small way!

No sympathy for Smendes tho, he got what he deserved :)

This was very charming! I loved the little character moments, particularly smendes holding onto the booth. The gameplay was also very engaging, though it took me some time to realise what was going on & which species were which haha. Very cool to see how both our games had similar themes and inspirations, yet feel so different to play. Great work man!

Thank you so much for the feedback, I would have liked to have got a tutorial working before the deadline but I wasn't happy with the state it was in before I ran out of time. I'm so happy that so many people liked Smendes though!

I agree on the themes and inspiration. There are 2 or 3 other games this jam with the same inspiration but they all definitely feel very different despite almost having the same premise.

Cool game! I like how you approached the theme and the lore based on ancient Egypt culture too. I guess Papers Please was some inspiration?

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Papers Please was a huge inspiration for the core gameplay loop and the gradual escalation of things you have to check. I'm glad the similarities came across.

Game was fun! Lost my time with the world, so 3 hours later here I am. 10/10 However, one day Smendes will get his day, one day buddy.

Was so fun to see the process of making this game on your stream, and I am happy to have been part of the brainstorming process.

It’s so fun and the Smendes surprise had me actually laugh out loud at my computer. I love the art style and the game is very addictive. It also has that rewarding feeling when you complete each day, which makes you play more and more. I think I could play for many hours on end and not get bored.

Heartbroken about Smendes, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Even played after the probation period. Great work!

Developer

I'm so glad you enjoyed it, it means a lot! It was a blast to make, too.

Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it! I've managed to find 6-7 ancient Egypt games so far. They're all really good!

Very neat take on the theme, I enjoyed the gameplay and art a lot! I love ancient Egyptian stuff and games like Papers Please, so this was super cool. The Auto-Ma'at-ic was really clever too 😅

P.S. Smendes is the best, more Smendes content please 💜

Submitted(+2)

This is neat, a super creative take on the theme. Auto-Maat-ic had me laughing a lot.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! I'm really happy to hear it made you laugh :)

I'm desperate for more Smendes. Maybe a romance sim?

Submitted(+2)

WOW! It reminded us of Papers, please. We had a similar idea about the Anubis' Trial but ended up with the different game. It was a bit hard to understand the game at first, BUT the gameplay was pleasing nonetheless. Good LUCK!
