How does your game fit the theme?
It fits the theme in two ways; one is 'building' the boss arena, before initiating the fight, the other is the turrets that can make you bigger or smaller.

Nice concept! Playing as a boss is hard. It would be useful to have more obstacle types.
Good work finishing the game!
Nice interpretation of the theme, really cute, polished aesthetic! Really enjoyed playing
I think if there is more reason to build something to beat opponent it will be better. But the arts and sounds are perfect and the idea to build stage by myself is brilliant!
i really enjoyed the idea of building an arena for the players to fight in, especially having to build it to be fair to both characters since you won't know which one you start as! i do think that there could be more ways to utilize the scaling turrets, since i didn't seem to really need it for the obstacles, and you could easily win a round as the hero by scaling yourself up and attacking with the sword, which would now have massive range. still, the aspect of building an arena is really interesting, and it'd be cool to see how this idea could be further developed!
I really like this! It sounds great, it feels great, and the idea is very cool!
Being the boss suddenly after i put a death cage around it on level 2 threw me for a loop lmao
Cool game! The pixel art is really well made and fits the style, i love the NES style gui on the bottom. Great job!
I love this concept it's brilliant! Having to think about how to give yourself an advantage regardless of which role you get is quite fun. Unfortunate that you have to go back to the start when you mess up, because otherwise I would play every level lol, but makes sense in a way I suppose to make you care about losing. The style is really great too and the sounds are so satisfying. One of my favourites so far definitely and if you took this out of the game jam I would absolutely want to play it, seems like there's loads of directions to take this concept. Congrats!
Thank you! I don't think I'll expand on it after the jam, but if I ever need a break from my other projects I can make a V2!
the visuals the concept and the concept are really cool but it was difficult to me to control the boss and the hero because i am with an azerty keyboard so the possibility to also use the arrows could be good
I can add it after the jam's done, I built the game using code that even allows for remapping. I simplified it to WASD at the end of development to avoid potential problems.
Interesting idea for a game! Very well presented too. Though it was a bit too easy to get the opponent into a tight space, then quickly make them (and a spike trap) very large and then just watch them be defeated pretty much instantly. Still, with more polish, this could be interesting as a PvP game, I reckon!
wow such a cool design! Neatly polished too, music fit nicely into it as well. Great job!
The first time I handed out 5 stars in every of the three categories. The idea is wildly creative and a very interesting take on the theme (I mean having to keep the field balanced), the style just hits the spot and playing is a lot of fun! Congratulations and I am sorry for not offering any constructive criticism :)
It's ok, the comment means a lot!
What a hidden gem! The presentation in this game is very consistent, in a good way. I also liked how the uncertainty of who you'll play as makes you build the level fair. Smart design choice!
What an awesome idea! Really nice art style and color pallet! Amazing job!
What a great idea! I love games that involve the player in this way. The uncertainty if you will become hero or boss also adds a nice layer of thinking about the whole thing. Favourite moment was me being so proud of the level design, then proceeding to press the wrong button, make the boss a tiny ant with light speed, and then frantically trying to escape him. :D
Great job!
This is really cool! I love the way you’re essentially designing a level, but you have to make it work for either the hero or the boss. Loved the visuals and the music as well. This was a really polished experience.
This feels good! I was really confused, though; even after reading the controls, it took me a minute to pick up on the gimmick, and then I still got lost on how to play most effectively. Rated!
Thanks for the feedback! What gave you trouble?
Nice idea! And feels really polished.
You did an amazing job on this game, if it ran on browser it would probably do even better I hope you get a good score on the jam!
