I love the style!
Thanks! :D
Phew, did get a sub 10 on my first try, but pretty much as close as it could have been. Actually surprised it took so long for me to find a climbing game. This is a really promising start! I like the mechanical idea. The controls and hitboxes need some fine-tuning I think (I'd prefer if there was no key repeat and every hookshot action had to be manually initiated) and the camera moved a bit too much for my taste, but none of those issues are deal-breakers. The music could have really needed a B-section. All in all, a pretty good entry, maybe I'll give it another go one of these days!
Enjoyed this a lot! Satisfying to get through quickly, music gets a bit repetitive when re-trying, though an overall solid experience :D
The game is really challenging, but in a good way! I think the collider of the hook good be a bit bigger (but once I got confident with the cotrolls it wasn't a problem anymore). Some jumps needed a hole lot of precision, which was difficult to achieve. Nonetheless the core gameplay is really polished and the art style and sound is simply amazing. Very cool game!
Super stylish platformer and satisfying hook! The pixel art is great and a really polished game :D
this was a pleasure to play and very well made. the art is wonderful and the core game play mechanic of the hook is very fun. I think if you were to add another mechanic like a dash or double jump to compliment the hook you could expand the game even more and add even more challenges. but for the limited amount of time given, you did awesome.
thank you so much for the feedback 🤖
I was personally very very very keen on adding a dash and a bit of horizontal flavor to levels, but as you said, time unfortunately is ruthless
Would have been pretty cool to add another mechanic had we had time to do it safely!
Always love myself a good challenge. Great job!
thank you ! 🤖
omg this is so good
That was a very cool speedrun game and eveyrones that all great games have hookshots! Thanks for supporting the controller, it made it easier for me to make that climb. Our only complaint is that Link was not at the end wanting his hookshot back! Also, It would nice if the cool down for the hookshot was either more apparent and or quicker.
thank you so much for playing our little game on stream 🤖
the feedback on the hookshot recharge was something we even mentioned during the debate if it should have a long punishment on failure or not… and we concluded that would be a good opportunity to show a cool “bling” effect to give feedback that the hookshot is recharged, but as you might imagine… time happened and that was left out : (
simple concept, but what an execution !
Loved the feeling when you rush a level in one shot
(but I'"m too clumsy to reach the end ...)
Great job !
Honestly, fantastic job! The hookshot mechanic took me a while to figure out, but one you get the rhythm of it, it feels so good. Loved the color, art, and music
I feel like the way my character would "lose footing" on moving platforms when I used my hookshot felt weird, but other than that this is a fun and visually pretty game! I'm also craving a little leeway on some left-right movement while in the air, but that's just me being nit-picky.
Great gameplay, nice art work and lights. Nice job!
perfect game play and clean color with great style, 5 Stars
thank you for the kind words !
Awesome game! I loved the ability to use the hook to bypass some of the platforming challenges. It's a shame, though, that after defeating the boss, I couldn’t find a way to play smarter to reach the finish faster.
Taking faster routes is always fun for me too. It would be nice to include some in the final climb, yeah
Awesome style and a fun challenge.
I did have an issue on Chrome/OS X where the main menu never disappeared which made it difficult to play.
This is a nice idea for a platformer. I just suck at platformers.
The art style was really nice, the deep parallax on the simple background was a great way to add depth. I loved the different kinds of things I had to hook to, it was a nice variety and it was a nice progression. If I had one complaint it would be that the cool down on being able to hook again was a little slow, it was particularly frustrating on the final level where a single failure would punish you pretty severely. Overall, a really fun experience. ♥
thanks for the feedback!
we went back and fourth on the cooldown for the grapple, it is balanced a bit more on the punishing side, it was a tough call either way
Very fun mechanic, i had a great time trying to combo up. I also like your art style!
thank you! our artists were cooking on this one : )
Glad you like the art!
I'm too bad at platformers to get far in this, but what I was able to play was pretty fun. I did seem to have a bug where the main menu would appear during play. The art style is nice!
thanks for letting us know, saw this only from 2 people and was never able to reproduce the problem sadly… would you mind sharing browser/os?
