That is a very interesting game! It is very interesting how many things you need to manage and how to influence both sides just by trading with them. Also the art and music is very good, good game!
Thank you so much! glad you enjoyed :)
Awesome! I like all the things you have to juggle at once, and I would play a polished post-jam version if there ever is one!
Thank you!! Hopefully we'll be iterating on it in the future and releasing it one day!
The concept of this one immediately grabbed me, and I wasn’t disappointed. I liked the puzzle aspect a lot, and the idea of reputation was really cool. I wish I could talk to the customers instead of just accepting or rejecting their trade, so I could make decisions and learn intel. While I liked the hint system, I also felt it was very confusing to keep track of who was who, so maybe there could be a way to keep notes in game?
Overall, very creative and interesting entry! I think it might be cool if you could choose which side to support through your actions, kind of like Papers, Please (which this game actually reminded me a lot of!). I’d love to see this as a full release!
Papers, Please was a big inspiration for us! We definitely want to implement more in-depth dialogue and a note taking system in the future. Thanks so much for playing!
Fun game, would be cool to see this in a longer game with even more characters and complexity. Great music too!
We'd love to add even more characters and options, and maybe a level system to increase complexity. Thanks for the feedback!
What a cool game! :)
thank you!!
Really liked the puzzle aspect, it got the perfect amount of confusing having to keep track of who everyone was and eventually just selling swords to everyone who asked lol. Great music and art as well
Thanks so much for your feedback!! We’re glad you enjoyed :)
Neat game mechanics - I really liked the logic puzzle!
I found that if I sold too many armour to the other team too early on (I was not taking notesat first!) then it takes a long time to get their health back down after you've figured out exactly which side everyone is on, then it gets grindy - of course there's reputation management but that gets pretty simple.
I wonder if it would be fun to introduce the option to sell "dud" items - like a laxative instead of potion, an exploding armour, or a bendy sword - and it would reduce instead of buff the stats they're supposed to, but at the cost of drastically reducing your rep (and you can only sell one of each because people will catch on!). Might be fun dialogue and also helps to finish the game quicker if you have worked out the puzzle already
that's a fun idea! if we continue dev afterwards, we'll definitely consider that. thank you for playing!!
Very beautiful game with great pixel art and fun, engaging game play!
thank you for playing!
Maybe I'm being silly, but after playing the game for about 10 minutes, I have absolutely no idea who is on which side and I can't figure out how to tell either haha. Loved the overall aesthetic and music though!
oh yeah i struggle to figure it out myself T__T if we were to keep working on this game, we would definitely add a built-in notes section so you can keep track of everything. thank you for playing!
Very very cool concept! Loved it a lot! Started selling everything to everyone because I didn't want them to be so sad. My only suggestion is maybe making the turns a little shorter or having a "customers left" counter. Overall very good experience!
not the emotional attachment to the characters LOL thank you for playing!!
Okay, I really enjoyed this game. This is one of the ones I played through the whole way with ease. I really love the puzzle aspect of trying to figure out who is on which side, I'm really glad you went that route instead of just telling people. While the items you can sell are simple, it actually makes the game extremely tactical. I found myself taking most offers for buying things like iron, etc but once I started figuring out who the regulars were from each side I would start rejecting any requests for armor or health by the other side. Really well done!
The only thing I would recommend is to add a display for your reputation with each side during a day. It doesn't have to update in real time as that would give up the game, but it would be helpful to have that reminder throughout the day so you don't have to try and remember where you were at.
thanks for playing and for the feedback!! great suggestion. so happy to hear you liked it <3
WOW, this is amazing. Our team also did a shopkeeper game, so it's super cool to see how others have interpreted the theme. The art is so good! Overall very well done. Amazing work!
thank you!! can't wait to check yours out
This game is REALLY good ! <3
aw thank you <3
Original idea, good job for making a fun shopkeeper game!
thanks!
Genius!
thank you!
Very nice UI and idea!
I think the key point of this game is the sentences that characters say after buying or selling an item (like "there is an angry pink guy in the other side"), which stays on the screen for too short. Maybe you can show those with the first sentences ("I would like to buy a potion" etc.)
thanks, & we appreciate the feedback!
Dope, I liked it!
thank you!
Great idea
Maybe consider showing what each trade may affect after you do it unless the purpose of the game was to keep some notes on each trade.
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, we would love a note-taking section in the future and in general some more visual info for the player. Thanks for playing!
Such a cool idea!
Thank you!
very interesting idea. there's a surprising amount of stuff to juggle and keep in mind (or write down). cute art and music too :) overall feels very much like a complete engaging experience
my only complaint (if you can call it that) is that the turns seem a bit too long. makes it hard to see the impact of each trade you make, which in turn makes it harder to figure out if your assumptions about each person were correct or not. but maybe that's by design!
Ooh, great feedback! It's a little by design but can for sure be improved on. I think we'd like to implement a note-taking feature and some more actions so that the time feels more justified.
