I have to say, this is quite an overwhelming game. I liked the idea of having a 48s game timer, but it would be nice if you can spend some time enjoying the final result. I still have no real idea how I did, or what the choice as preparation does, as those might benefit from not having any time issue. There is also much flavor text that you don't have the time to read, which seems like a waste. Especially that sometimes it's not flavor text but explaining what the card does. It also got quite annoying that I had to drag from one end of the screen to another, as well as get stuck not being able to play another card since the ones given didn't fit while I had already run out of rerolls.

Overall still a good achievement!

Developer

Originally during the preparation phase you should use special card to allow to keep some tile on the board and also have more extra work to prepare for the game, but due to the time I couldn't make it in time :( Same for the description of the card, I wanted to add special effect for cards (like theme) but I didn't had time to set it so I kept with the random text I have writing when rushed the creation of the cards :D

Overall thanks for your feedback, I will take them into account if I continue to work on it.

I must say the whole game for me seems like a pretty complicated system to make. And it's well done. A little part of me wished there was a bit more hand-holding while the game's being played. But I think it's a job well done for a 48hr project. Your art style is contrasting and easy to identify the elements, audio cues are nice and made me keep playing the game. Really good Job!

Feel free to hop into my game as well, and share your rating and comments if you have the time!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, receive a lot of complain about the difficulty to understand. I am really sad to not have taken the time to make an explanation guide before. Next time it will be better !

Love the concept, original idea! Rules are a bit hard to understand at the beginning, maybe you can find a way to make them easier. anyway good job!!!

Developer(+1)

I have added a gif on the main page which explain quickly what to do and how it is working. But it might still be complex. There is also a youtube video if needed. But I agree with you, a main menu which explain what to do could have been great.

Basically i went in not sure what to do and with energy draining me and feeling hungry at most times and my vision slowly going out, forgetting that i had to even submit the damned thing. Pretty accurate with how making a jam game is like. Great job!

Developer

Thanks, hope you enjoyed :)

Text was a bit hard to read, but I like the concept. Kept me really engaged as I was stressing to figure out the best positioning and keeping those meters up :p

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, I took the first pixel font I found but unfortunately it was not the best one.

Interesting idea to make a choice based upgrade system with multiple runs similar to a rogue-lite. Very enjoyable.

Developer(+1)

I like rogue lite :D First time I am doing one but I will continue I like this kind of game ahah thanks for your comment

Fun game to play! I loved how the eat/sleep/fun meter made it so you couldn't focus on just making the game, so realistic :')

Developer

Thanks, unfortunately the fun meter was not really useful yet :D I tried different setting to change things but it was either not interesting or to much changes for the player.

Confusing at first but after some time I got the hang of it

Developer

I have added a quick gif/video to explain a bit what to do, but it's hard to explain how the game work, specially when you work during 48h, it seems so obvious ahah :D Thanks for playing !

The font was a little hard to read, but overall good execution on a good idea!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I wanted to find a pixel art font and took the first one available, but I agree with you that it's not the easiest one to read. Will change it if I come back on the game, thanks for your feedback :)

I love this game! I really like how you have to make sure that you have to keep your own stats up or else you can't work on the game. The effects were cool, and of course relatable :)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks a lot, I really try to focus on this balance but it was hard to get it correctly. Hope it works fine :)

I love the experience of nearly passing out when I neglect my needs, truly immersive gameplay! The time pressure for the game and your needs combined really nicely and I really enjoyed the game.

Developer

Thanks, the main idea was to create this pressure on the player, it's not really the case on first level but when you start to reach level 3-4 it's really hard. Happy that you liked the game

Really fresh idea~good art style too..Some audios are too loud sometimes surprised me.Overall it's fun!Nice work!

Developer

Thanks a lot, art was done on the last day in a rush moment it was ... interesting :D Thanks for the comment ^_^

The effects for when you neglect your needs are a real nice touch. Very creative entry,I like how the game works, mixing puzzle mechanics while maintaining your resources up.  Great job!

Developer (1 edit)

Originaly the description were supposed to show some special effect and rules. But didn't had time to implement it :D So we write some quick description with what we had in mind.  Thanks for the comment :)

The UI design is great and the concept is really fun! I love the interpretation of the theme.

The sound-effects were very pleasing and making sure I kept on-top of my basic needs was a very realistic experience!

Developer(+1)

Thnaks ! A lot of things unfortunately we couldn't implement so the preparation time is a bit long and the jam is not that stressful as we wanted.

Submitted(+1)

I had some trouble understanding what to do, and the UI/font could use a little love. Once I figured it out, though, I had a bit of fun, and a good laugh at it. Really liked the effect of sleep making you unable to see what you're doing, and I had a good laugh at the developer humor. Nice job. :)

Developer

Thanks a lot, I wanted to add a start main menu or at least a page which explain what to do but couldn't have time. I just hope that people will play until they find out ^^

Engaging gameplay, interesting idea.

It's nice that you have some joke references here and there about programming, development and video games in general.

Played it for like 20 minutes.

4/5 rating

Developer

Thanks, 20 minutes is a lot :o. The game might freeze a bit after that many time :D

FPS did lower actually but I could still play, there was a lot of tiles after getting a few developers.
