How does your game fit the theme?
This is a game where your role is swapped with the program that generates a dungeon. Instead of having the computer generate dungeons for you to play, you are generating dungeons for the computer to play

I think the idea here is interesting, but the game itself could use some refining. It could really use an in-game tutorial, as I got really confused as to how to actually play the game. It probably would have helped a lot to slow the player down quite a bit, so there was more time for new players to process what's going on. I think it could have also helped to make it a little more clear how everything worked together, maybe by showing the stats directly to the player.

cool idea, I was pretty confused at first because i didn't understand the camera was snapping I thought things were changing and the player was disappearing lol - fun once I figured it out

Cool idea and take on the theme. Decently fun but I think the game could communicate the effects of each enemy and reward more clearly which would make building rooms quickly in the moment more enjoyable.

Pretty nice dungeon building game. Needing to balance fun and health was fun to do especially as the player started getting faster and faster. The main thing that was a bit confusing was the camera snapping to show the room you just built. Made it seem like you were just changing the objects in the room that was already there (so would be easy to get lost and think the hero is randomly dying or something else). If you continue working on it post jam to prevent that you can change it to not snap the camera and let the player do it themselves to keep them knowing what they see or you can tween towards the new camera position to smoothly show the player that you're moving over one room. Music works well though and had some nice difficulty

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! After the jam I will update it so the camera movement is more clear and give the option to not snap the camera.

It's cool that we thought of the same concept but went with different mechanics. This game has simpler mechanics, but the art looks well-polished. I didn't find much use for the trap but maybe I just missed something.

Pretty cool idea, doesn't really last long enough though. Cool graphics too. Good job!

I never figured out what to do, but graphics looks cool.

Great game! Nice job creating all the custom assets, your art is especially good! I want to make more art like that style.

Thanks! I didn't make the art, it was all done by https://twitter.com/Orchids_Ar

Good concept, curious to see this fully worked out

Developer

Thanks! I will definitely keep working on it to give it more depth and variety

Good idea

Cool idea! Like others have said, it would be nice to see an animation loop of the characters , but it is totally understandable given the time constraint. Keep it up and I can't wait to see what you make next:)

Thanks! Right now my plan is to just update this game with the feedback from everyone's comments

Sounds like a great next step!

I think I ran away a bit from the player, id would like to see the current player room somewhere aswell, so that I can easier chose what to set.

Developer

Yeah, it can be difficult to track if you get too far ahead.. Will try to find some way to fix that

Cool idea! It would be great if you could see them fight with a simple animation loop

Developer(+1)

That's a good idea, will try to add that after the jam

Nice concept! Wish there was a bit more info on different monsters and combos.

Developer

I'm planning on adding more info and variety after the jam

neat game. I was lost at the beginning and lost immediately, after reading the description and playing a little its fun. the game has potential

Developer

Thanks! I wanted to add more info in the game but ran out of time so just added the info to the description

Very cool idea! Once you figure out what is happening it is a lot of fun making the dungeon work~ really creative idea!  Keep working on it for sure, with a proper tutorial and more juice/polish it could be a neat game!! Please check out my non-creative entry when you can :D

Developer

A tutorial and more clarity are def the first things I'm going to be adding once the jam ends

I really like this concept! The barrier to entry is super high, though. Not only do I have to read the descriptions of what each button does below, I also have to figure out what each monster does, and with the timer it's too difficult to understand quickly. I understand that time limits the amount of explanation you can do, but for a super low-effort explanation, I would have put text on the screen that says "Add a room type and a monster to each room before time runs out!" and then put little colored arrows next to each one. Red up arrow increases HP, red down arrow decreases it (and you can put multiple for more damage), blue arrow increases or decreases happiness, yellow arrow increases or decreases speed. Just my suggestion for future situations like this - remember that it doesn't have to be great, just readable :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I know the game is pretty confusing in its current state, so adding some tutorials and on-screen indicators is definitely high on my priority list once the jam ends
