honestly one of the best games ive played so far

Really loved how this looked, sounded and felt.

Neat game! But it lacks on content and gameplay.

Somewhat relaxing, although I share the sentiment there wasn't much to accomplish. I still had fun and played it all the way till I could place a chest and key and earn over 2k without doing anything. I enjoyed the music and something tickled my brain about the sound effects. if you keep working on this you should add a much larger goal, maybe something as simple as decorations to buy.

Developer

Yep!  The downsides of a short game jam: You can't really do everything you wanted to do originally. Especially if you are one person doing everything from coding, making the music, play testing, etc. But yes I share your vision! Glad you at least some what enjoyed it!

Cute visuals and interesting idea, but I wish there was some sort of goal for us, as the designer, to do with the player to justify us adding the elements to the level in the first place (like, Idk, we need to help the player going in the correct direction or something like that). It could be a me problem, tho, as I'm not used to games where the player has literal freedom to do whatever they desire

Developer

I see that makes sense, some people like games more like that. I personally really like sandbox games of any sort. Sorry you didn't enjoy my game :(

Don't be sorry. I didn't hate it, and at the end of the day games usually aren't for everyone, and I'm glad other people liked it (maybe I needed to get into more sandboxes when I was a kid, but that's a me problem lol). Good luck with the jam <3

I really like the unique idea of the game, and the calm experience is very enjoyable. Also, the music is really good.  I would have made a single fence look different since it looked like a sign at first. Overall, this is a really fun entry!

Submitted(+1)

very interesting game, it feels like some kind of idle game, but with designing function to me
there is no goal, but it's quite interesting tho
nicely done!

Fun and relaxing game! Loved the sounds - very satisfying!

Once I realized that the sign was supposed to be a fence post, the game became very fun to try and optimize, even if there wasn't necessarily any end goal in sight. Fun game! Loved seeing all the different sprites the little AI-controlled player could turn into

Nice concept, though a bit confusing to learn at first and the fence kinda looks like a sign. Though I think if you work on the game a bit more later on and add more features, it can become a really fun sandbox! I love the graphics too btw

Great job this was quite fun to play!

Simple relaxing game.

At some point, I thought the game would eventually end if you collect enough chests (I made that assumption because the character changed every time they picked up a chest)

I enjoyed the game, though!

this is a "feel good" game, no stress, no pressure, no problems, just click here and there and relax. thx for making such a calming entry^^

Developer(+1)

Yes!! I am glad you liked it! :D

WOW, Amazing game, Great Job!!

This is a really satisfying game, I think it would be better to make it so the prices inflate as you level up your charather or that on lvl up, the map clears and you get a whole bunch of new stuff to test, cause it gets a bit boring after a while

Developer(+1)

Yep,  that was the idea initially but as a solo developer I just didn't have enough time! Still glad you enjoyed at least part of the game!

Submitted(+1)

The core idea is great, but we both suffer the same problem, not enough time xD

Submitted(+2)

Fun little experience, and the art and sound design are very nice :)

Submitted(+1)

Very fun game I  don't have any real negative except low amount of Items to use but very good prototype.

Hearing those points go up is very satisfying! I think the premise of the game of being the "designer" feels like a little bit of a stretch but I still enjoyed the game itself. I like how it's very intuitive to start making a maze for the player to run through since you get higher point multipliers the further you go. Would enjoy seeing a version of this with even more tools!

Developer

Thank you glad you enjoyed it! I came up with the name before I finished the game and at the time the bar was set much higher so yeah it is less like a "designer" than I wanted it to be. As a solo developer, I just didn't have enough time to do everything I wanted and dreamed of. I am very glad you enjoyed it however :D

not enouth to do. need monsters and sutch

Developer(+1)

Sorry, I didn't live up to your dream :( As a solo developer, I didn't have time as well as I never had experience with pixel art games and also pathfinding algorithms. This whole game was very much out of my comfort zone and I wasn't able to do as much as I wanted due to just not having enough time since I had to do everything, test everything, and fix everything. I am sorry you didn't like my game :(
