Haha man this ending ! ^^

So after a huge deal of fun you managed to make me laugh !

Your game is awesome ! Idea matches the theme 100% and yet with a very unique gameplay !

So yes WASD doesn't work in browser so I dowloaded the installer. This would be my only remark : in GMS2 you can build a portable version as well as an installer, and i think a portable version is way better for small games like yours ;). Especially during a jam because we test a lot of games and portable version make it way easier.

But man ! Awesome game ! You deserved your three 5 !

For the ones who didn't listen the full 12 minutes monologue, you can go check Random's game : Little Red Rocket Ship !

Really glad i downloaded to play,  it was fun and fast paced game, and I love the strategy of trying to capture ships on a certain side to change your formation.

In the browser i was having trouble with the Pause in Space and WASD, i realized that without putting at full screen it work, so i put on zoom 70% to can see the entire screen, i recommend edit the size on itch.io and takeoff the fullscreen button to force everyone try it that way

Edit: AH I really like it, the easter egg at final is something that i would done too XD

Thanks for all of the comments and ratings!  If you experience trouble with the controls, try the downloadable Windows version.  For some reason, browser games can be buggy sometimes, especially with inputs.

Could be very fun. Unfortunately the wasd wasn't working.

Very interesing idea, unfortunately my wasd wasn't working so I had to finish the wave sticked to the starting position

Woah this is cool. The controls for the player UFO feel really nice and the explosion effects are really satisfying. Nice job!

Interesting.  I did run into a bit of a bug where I apparently shot down an enemy right on top of me, and I was never able to move again (as you can imagine I didn't last long ^_^ )  I guess something weird happened with the collision or something.
I did think it was a bit difficult to control - using exclusively wasd and not the arrow keys to move while using exclusively the mouse and not other keyboard keys to do the other actions is always tricky for me, so that could probably just be me, though having alternate controls is always nice.
Liked the ship designs and effects.  Cheers!

Wow! I really like this idea. Very fast paced and full of action. Hang on... I made something similar! Not as clean as this though.

Lovely game. Love the ability to capture the enemies. However the game has a couple of bugs that can make the game hard to play. The music is an absolute jam and fits this near on perfectly.

When capturing enemies a capture circle is shown. This is a very great way to indicate your progress. I do wish there was a bit more feedback/polish. You can capture an enemy half way across the map, but that doesn't change your progress. I would have expected the closer your mouse, the faster the capture.

For my taste the enemies come in a bit too fast for a first wave. I want a couple of really slow enemies I can practice capturing on it when they are still moving towards me. This would also give the ability to spawn a lot of enemies in a chain.

When having captured a lot of enemies. I would have expected them to act as a resource. When shooting they would drain themselves until destroyed. This would give a dynamic of when to capture, when to take hits, and when to shoot. As these all would contribute to the amount of firepower/defences you will have. More risk and more reward.

Bugs:

  • When having captured enemies, Enemies can still hit me through my blockade killing me instantly.
  • When having captured enemies. Press left mouse button to shoot. Hold right mouse button to capture. Now when you let go of left mouse button. You and your friendlies still fire, even though you are still in capture mode.
  • Pressing space to pause the game, makes it unable to unpause. Creating a softlock you can't escape.
  • At some point my game went black and softlocked me out.
