I am not a fan of horror but for the sake of game jams, DAMN. This games got me so immersed I started having goosebumps. Really good artworks and really good movement. The atmosphere is so perfect. Great job!!!

How does your game fit the theme?
We combined two senses from humans, sight and hearing. Only if you merge these abilities together, you will be able to escape the lab.

Can't believe how easily I get scared by these types of games! By the time I met the first zombie I was TERRIFIED! Loved the artwork. Well done!
very good artwork and music, especially for 48 hours.
I think just a bit more light radius would of been helpful.
Also maybe put the collider only on the lower half of the character rather than the entire thing, might make walking around a bit better.
Overall though great use of the mechanic and fun idea. I enjoyed it.
Fun entry and a mechanic! I wouldn't lie if the zombies didn't spook me a little the first time I bumped into one.
I feel there's more to explore with this concept and perhaps some cool way you could involve the flashlight more down the line, perhaps by adding some kind of solar panels you need to charge with your flashlights ( not super realistic, but y'know ), or enemies that react in strange or eerie ways with the light beam, perhaps darting really quickly across the light to signal it's about to attack from behind
Great job though, I enjoyed what you did :)
Awesome to hear!
I think there could be something there, I feel a temporary scare might not be too interesting. However, maybe you could have the ability to throw some kind of light or turn on lights that attract zombies away from you, just to play more into the idea of light and sound :)
I'm sure there's a cool way to incorporate scaring the zombies though, I'm just not too sure. Unless there was some kind of monster hierarchy and you you could use the head or blood of a monster they react in fear towards to spook them away :s Maybe there's something cool there
All depends on the implementation
Have fun experimenting :)
This is a really neat game, i like the art work on this especially, the tutorial is well made and explains the game quick and efficiently. I like this, overall good work :)
I like the idea and the atmosphere of the game. I also appreciate that u can solve the levels on your own way.
Maybe you could make the radius to see the invisible zombies bigger because they were really difficult to encounter but all in all i think the game has a nice difficulty level and the graphic really fits to the style of the game.
I love horror games and this was a pretty cool experience, I love the atmosphere and the music. On level 3 the zombie pretty much pops out of nowhere but the quick respawn saves the day. I didnt really use the whistle and the flashlight at all, I think that wasnt very clear to me or what effect they had on the gameplay.
Maybe with a bit more time you could have introduced this mechancs one by one in a specific scenario to make them more clear.
Great work, please take some time to review my game.
Really cool and atmospheric game! It gave me some good Resident Evil vibes. Also the lighting and shadow effect looks really nice! My only remark is that it seems too difficult to escape once you have been spotted by a zombie, even after turning off the flashlight. But overall really impressive, good work!
Nice game, very spooky! I shouted several times when the zombie appeared next to me with sound effects. The contrast between your light and the dark surroundings adds to the spookiness. And the levels train your spatial memories, I like that.
Nice game!
While spooky games are really not what I like to play (weak to scare jumps among other things) I could enjoy a few levels of this one.
The whistling sound is satisfying and tricking the zombies instead of killing them is a twist I like, it emphasizes the puzzle/strategic side of the game.
That said I'm not really good at those games so I could not get past the part where there are 2 red buttons (you have to go all the way to the top right and then retrace your steps to the start).
Small feedback that I have, if you don't mind, is that it would be useful to have something telling us if we can whistle or not (since it seems to have a cooldown). If there was something already sorry to have missed it.
Otherwise, impressive work for a 48h jam!
Thank you for your kind feedback. The idea with visualizing the cooldown for the wistling is pretty smart and if we continue working on the game we will defenetly include it.
The room you get stuck in was the last level and we experienced that it is way to hard. We thought about including a video with a full walk-through on the itch page. Would this help you?
But if you actually got this far great work, because even to this point its not easy.
I really liked the sounds and music, especially the whistling sound. A very nice atmosphere.
You really nailed the spooky atmoshpere ! Well done! It's hard to get it right in a 2d game, espacially in 48 hours.
It was a bit difficult at times, but that's good in my eyes. Maybe a little more progression would be good idk..
Well done!
Good atmosphere. A bit too much of trial and error for the zombies (or maybe I’m just too bad?)
Would love to come back to a more polished version of this!
The game looked great, but I quickly got frustrated playing through the levels. It seems impossible to beat them without dying to every enemy at least once first. By the time you find a zombie, you are already dead. The only way to get past them was to know where they were before seeing them. It is a great concept though, and the atmosphere was very tense. It kept me on the edge of my seat.
Sound and graphics are awesome ! The atmosphere is really oppressive, i was scared each time i encountered a new enemy. However, it's just a little bit too "die and retry" for me. Nonetheless, great work :)
One of the most polished games here. Great sound design and visuals. The music track is amazing and I really liked the 2D light and shadow effects. Overall it makes for genuinely creepy atmosphere.
