How does your game fit the theme?
As you progress in the puzzles, you lose control over your ability to directly affect the outcome. You can only set up an initial state and watch as a rules based algorithm transforms your input. Puzzles are solved using indirect control.

Interesting and fun idea. Featback feels good with animations and sounds. I like it :D

I love conway's game of life so this was a really fun game for me! the music just gets a little repetative but I saw it can be turned off. Great game and one I'll definately return to finish all the puzzles!

As a bit of math geek myself, I really wanted to try this one out the moment I found it. What a fun puzzler! The audio cues really fit the game and everything responded very well.

With touch controls, this would make a great puzzle app for iOS or Android.

Fun! I love playing with Convay, so I'm of course super biased, my only criticism are the "Yay" sound and the reset not letting you see right away how many generations you need (yes, silly, I know, but it came up a few times because my brain is apparently a sieve).

It gets pretty tricky! I could see this as a real mobile app, it's already polished enough. Finished all 25 levels. 23 and 24 are a bit of an in-joke in this order, aren't they? :D

Thanks for playing and thanks for your feedback! I'm glad you could make it through all 25.

I felt ok covering up the number of generations because it was redundant with the timeline at the bottom, but I should have kept all the information on screen!

I was worried 24 would be too hard without 23, and so I deferred to Too Easy over Too Hard. I'd rather the player have a victory lap at the end to celebrate some exciting Game of Life patterns. Maybe I'll rebalance it after the jam with your comments in mind!

Oh, sorry, I probably wasn't too clear (English second language) - I don't think it was too easy - it just was fun to spot the solution being usable like that. You definitely made the right call with the difficulty overall, I think.

Developer

oh, I misunderstood! My fault. Thanks for the clarification

I love the audio effects. I just cant really see how it fits the jam's theme

Fun game and encourages experimentation! It got pretty hard very quickly and I could only complete the first 7 levels. Also I really like the UI!

Personally I don't like this style of game, so because of that I feel that I can't properly rate this. But the presentation and sounds were good, So good job!

Fantastic job! I've never even heard of this concept beforehand, but turning it into a puzzle game was ingenious. I feel like many people will be offput by the difficulty, (admittedly I was after a few levels), but I think anyone hardcore into puzzlers would absolutely love this. Everything about this game feels so slick and energetic even with the incredibly simplistic visuals. The backing track especially adds to this. Add more levels and maybe some mechanics which build beyond the actual real life concept and pop this up for sale somewhere. This needs more attention in the jam!

Really cool idea, but the level difficulty gets hard real quick. The audio is nice except the YAY gets really repetive. Overall fun for a few seconds, then the novelty wears off. Exactly what I expect from a jam game!
