How does your game fit the theme?
The gyro on your ship constantly malfunctions making it difficult to regain control. Also you are mostly at the whim of gravity in terms of forward movement.

Fun game! I don't know whether or not it was hard to save high scores between turning the game off and on but it's a nice touch that i appreciate. Music and sounds were unexpectedly good. I did notice that getting shields while you already have them or just as you're losing them makes the shields up text stay on but the particles do not. I didn't crash into anything on purpose to see if they still worked though. That error really doesn't take anything away from the experience though. I did particularly like that you kept high scores for both velocity and distance, but i hadn't the slightest idea as to how to get a high score in velocity. I did manage to get down to 1 velocity though. The ship then proceeded to do a boost and explode for mysterious reasons. I think this is probably caused by being far away from the asteroids but im not so sure about that. All in all this is my favorite game in this jam i've played, partly because i haven't played any others yet and partly because it is really good
thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it! I didnt want to restrict the player to the asteroid belt completely so instead you slow down when outside of it. if you have boost available when you reach 1 velocity it will automatically use it to keep your speed up as you should explode when at 0 velocity. It is a little glitchy but I am working on a better system for post-jam. good to know about the stacking shields bug I am working on a fix. :)
you know that makes sense, actually, and i don't know how else i'd do that. Good call on not making the player stay still until they restart the game

The flying felt good. The models look good, and I especially liked the combustion effect. The difficulty was balanced well for me. I appreciated the two boosts. They both had meaningful effects which made me want to hit as many as possible. I had no sense of progress though, since the meters were all off screen for me (24:9 ratio).

Pretty cool. You've nailed the feeling of flying in space, not that I have ever done that in real life, but I really enjoyed how it felt and whenever the gyro went on the fritz you could really feel the BOOM! and the impact. Nicely done! :D

Felt real fun, whether or not the gyro issue was something i was doing or random was a bit hard to parse at first, but otherwise great.
Thanks for the comment! Yeah the gyro maybe hits you too soon, before you really get to learn the game I suppose i just got used to it when making it haha.
I have since fixed an error where the gyro message sometimes doesn't show up long enough and I've also increased its size to make it more prominent. Will update once voting ends. =)
