I could not get used to the controls. I think the idea is very good. Keep working and learning good luck! I liked it.
Maybe you can take a look at my game as well  I hope you'll like it as much as I liked yours :) https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/461311

so the controls were very awkward. I'm not sure if that was part of the design for only one b/c you couldn't press a button by itself but had to combine all the buttons. It made the game super hard to play. I did keep trying to play even thought it was really hard to play. I kinda was wanting to see if any of the levels changed up the gameplay any. I also liked the humor in the game

the other feedback I would have and I want to give this not to criticize just for tips

- the game should quick restart. You can die a lot in this game so having to wait so long to restart the level makes you less interested b/c you wanna try again but you have to wait to start the level over

- the enemy ai is too sporadic and random. It's hard to actually get around the enemies b/c they don't seem to have a pattern that you can truly follow. You just have to hope they move out of where you wanna go

- the levels never seemed to introduce any new mechanics. It was just 1 enemy and collect the meat and get the key. I was hoping to see some kind of new mechanic introduced. Of course this is a 48 hour jam game so time is limited, but it would of been cool to see an interesting new mechanic for the puzzles.

Btw the theme is apparently a mixup between only one enemy, and only one may survive.  Because you and the enemy are going for the same goal.

You've got a good concept, although I fail to see where it fits the theme. I feel you should try to better the control, moving sideway controls fine, but jumping only when moving is not that great, plus you can get stuck on the wall... The level design is a bit unoriginal and the parasite getting stuck on the upper part of the level and not moving elsewhere is very frustrating.

As a side note : the graphic design is messy, it might be the goal but try to contrast it by having a more coherent color palet, for example the food and the main character are the same color, making it hard to see where you are at a glance. The bold stroke used for the outlines are nice, and I think you should use more of it. But great work on the transition screen, they should be  faster but they're great nonetheless. Also do try to better some of the textual explanation, some are hard to understand.

thank you for playing my game :) yeah I still have a alot to learn thank you for the advice. This is only my 3rd game and the first 2 were kinda super terrible and never saw the light of day. Getting feedback so that I can improve was the main reason I wanted to do this game jam. So thank so much for taking the time to comment and tell me your honest opinion. :)

Pretty damn creepy

I liked what you were going for with the messy terror of it. Reminds me of mid 00's flash games.

The controls were almost unbearable though

thank you! Yeah you aren't alone with hating the controls. After the jam was over my brother in law played and I ended up changing the controls. Just a little to late though. Thank you so much for playing and taking the time to comment. :)
