Good start! I included it in my GMTK Game Jam 2019 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/P5BMwIOWTEc

It's a shame you couldn't do all you wanted to do. The good thing is that you can always continue working on your game and improve it. I'm excited to see that improvement and I think your idea is cool, that's why I'm following you to see your progress :)
Ah man, I can relate to you running out of time with this. There was a bunch more I wanted to do with my 1D game (I actually had a similar idea of making it where the player can stop and rotate the line they're locked to), but I ended up not having being able to get any of it done in the time we had. Hopefully your game gets further along than mine did!
Cool concept, has a lot of potential. It's just a shame there isn't more content to fully explore this mechanic. Good job anyways :)
I think what helped me the most was doing small projects and following the lazy devs tutorials. He goes into such depth as to why he is making decisions :https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdT68dsulMFouI2InvXWM5w. The biggest hurdle for me was learning how to interact with sprites/map and I'm still really new.
The idea I struggled with was what is a 1D platformer. Limited time didn’t help. However, I wanted to try to explore puzzle solving in a way that was more than the jokey 1D Tetris, which is even less of a game. Maybe when I’ve worked things out a bit more I could invite you back to play it. When it is more of a game
