I think your game fits the theme really well and I just wish there were more levels to play because I was having so much fun.

Developer

Thank you ! I'll be working more on this game, so more levels are definitely coming soon. Although, i might remake the character to something more polished

Really cool concept, a whole game could be done based on this idea, hope you keep working on it!!

Will do, thanks for playing  :) !

Clever concept but very finicky controls. Will definitely check it out if you expand on it post-jam.

Developer

What made the controls finicky ? Was it the key binds or more like the movement speed and stuff ?

The latter, it was very hard to put the platform exactly where I wanted it to block a horizontal beam. It might also be the right call to have a brief slowdown / warmup for the character's momentum, rather than instant freeze and unfreeze, it'll make it a lot less twitchy.

Developer

Ah okay gotcha, thanks for the feedback !

Fun.

Developer

Thanks lol :)

Really cool concept!  I liked having to figure out ways to manipulate the character's momentum along with the platform to get through various obstacles.

I'd definitely make the platform thicker for blocking horizontal beams though, getting it in the right position was rather finicky on the second level, and not in a way that was gameplay difficult since the character was stopped while I was working on it.  It would also be interesting if you kept more momentum along the horizontal axis so you didn't have to remember to start holding the button again when you switch back if you're not trying a complicated maneuver.

I would love to see more levels with more interesting usages of the mechanic! :)

The horizontal momentum is one of the failures of my life, and  I still dont know what the problem is because I tried reapplying the velocity when the player froze and it still used to magically backtrack ( like for e.g if it moved right, it used to jitter and center itself back to its original position). I spent one day on it and still had no results so I just ignored it to finish the game as I was lagging behind.

Platform thicker is a good idea,  I might make it a a huge square block .

Thanks for the feedback and for playing  !
