The atmosphere you created is great, just check Sally’s collision box coz she can float on the edges. But really keen to see the full version

Thank you. I have noticed and it drives me crazy. I recently tried putting the frames in an image editor and cropping the back smaller, but it turns out the back has to be really wide so Sally's hair can flow back on jumps, so I was only able to crop off two pixels. Then when I put it into GDevelop along with the uncropped version, I really could not see a visible difference with how far she floats. I might be able to get away with a couple more pixels, but I'm not sure how much it will help. It might just be an innate flaw of this otherwise good asset :(
Thanks. I have gotten a bit more progress on the updates I plan to add after the jam. The game now keeps track of how many tokens have been collected and I have the next set of dialogue triggered to start when you speak to the oracle after finding them. The finished game will probably be five minutes tops, but better than what have now.
Can't wait to see how this comes together after the jam! Cute character and the controls feel nice.
Wow, the controls feel really nice. Artstyle is really cool too. Although, playing a story-driven game might be not handy during quick-pased things like jams. Still, loved that Alice in Wonderland feeling.
Thanks. This software is not really made for easy dialogue and I had to set up a system of invisible blocks for Sally to collide into to trigger it to appear. Then at first I could only get it to advance by clicking ON each text object. I eventually found I could set it to show/delete the text objects with mouse clicks anywhere on the screen, but the text would only show in the right order if I set up the show/delete text objects events backwards. I'm sure there's a much more efficient way with string variables or something and I know Yarn can be integrated, I just did not have time to learn it for the jam.
looks cool, am interested to see how the full version looks, btw, try applying the grain filter to the players as well, i hink it might look better
Thanks. I thought about that, but I wanted them to pop out from the background, especially Sally, who does not come from the grayscale dream world. However, I did put a slight sepia filter to her because the default image popped out too much and for the bird I added a much stronger sepia tint. The oracle, I definitely wanted to stand out, but maybe I should add a slight tint to it too.
I'm stuck on "What are you? A bird or a bee?" but looks cool, I like the dark style
The game looks pretty good but the Theme isn't really in there. And this is more of a personal taste but im not into creepy music. Good job though.
The theme was pets/companions, so I felt that an animal companion that accompanied the player through the forest would fit the theme.
I get what you mean about creepy music. I'm not found of scary games/music myself, which is why I made sure to note in one of the descriptions that the game was not intended to be horror, just spooky atmospheric, and I tried to aim for mysterious music as opposed to scary. I think the title is actually "Melodic and Gentle Ambiance," though coupled with the forest and old film effect, it definitely is a bit creepy :-O
