Played this a few days ago and dunno why I didn't rate cus i quite liked it. I have been playing through Earthbound for the first time lately and this reminds me a lot of that game. There's a lot to like here, from the pixel art to the general level of whimsy

Cute art! Would’ve been nice to have some sound, but I know that you were pretty busy with figuring out Unity. Planning on continuning it after the jam?

Developer

Thank you! I think I'm going to leave this game after the jam and work on other projects, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out for my first game.

Hahaha this just happened:

I called a frog driver a "b*tch", which did not affect it, so the frog driver ended up flirting with me! So I cried and fled!!

Love it. It's like a mixture of Pokemon and Earthbound.

Earthbound

Haha yes!!! It's very very inspired by Earthbound. I'm happy you liked it!

Fun little concept! i think you could have gone a bit further to add quests to do something in each house and maybe fight a different object or appliance.

Pretty sure its a bug but if you leave any of the houses you exit out of the same house you started in.

It was really fun and cute in concept. I feel like some audio would have helped it feel even better. Kicking down cultists and living the rpg dream of trespassing was cool though.

Thank you! I'll have to try and get audio in for my next jam since that seems to be the main point of feedback. I'm glad you liked it otherwise!

Really nice graphics, missed having some sort of SFX when performing an action. I recommend in case you don't know about it: https://www.bfxr.net/

It feels very gameboy-like. There were lots of RPGs similar to this. I think you could really expand on it by adding in some sound effects and some animations for the combat. Having a bit more there would make this more fun. It's impressive you got an overworld and a combat system completed in such a short timeframe. Good job!

Developer

I agree, if I'd had more time I would have tried making some additions but ran out of time unfortunately.  Thank you!
