How does your game meet GBJam's theme?
lifelik takes place in a world where luck is built in to its structure. Newliks start unlucky, and have to prove themselves as good citizens to be born into better lives. Outside of the scenario of the game, random chance is also utilized as a gameplay mechanic.

The style and vibe of the game is on point. The concept is a great interpretation of the theme! It looks like a lot of work went into this.

What a cool game! Got 1-4 a good number of times, stole the gun but kept getting killed. Told Tob(?) to eat the burgers, wasn't sure what else there was to do.

Very cool visuals and I love how all the lore connects together!

Wtfff?! This looks, sounds, and plays like a full on experimental game... Not a jam game xD It's like, fully complete, with a concept that's so amazingly executed xD I've yet to finishit, but I definitely will.

It's just... Wow. I don't have the words xD

Amazing work... I hope you had fun making it! Thank you so much!!

I spawned as a Sluglik twice in a row before having my station improved to Goblik. I worked on the factory floor, pruning the conveyor belt until, though the low resolution haze I realized, I was killing Slugliks. The poor pitiful creatures I had been damned to two lives as. Upon realizing this I realized a second thing. That perhaps I could wield my pruning fist against the Manlik who told me to punch down. I struck with bravery and determination but was quickly slain. When the dice rolled, 3 came up again and instead of facing the cruel reality of the factory floor once again I exited the game, ejecting myself from the cycle of rebirth.

Absolutely the weirdest game in the jam. This project is firing on all cylinders. Looks great, sounds great, feels weird and is absolutely opaque in the way that only really niche games can be. My only qualm is that this way too high tech to be a Game Boy game, but it's no longer 1989 and the constraints of a Z-80 processor bind us no longer. Good work!

This game is woefully underrated. It's a very unique experience all the way through, and I think the strongest point is definitely its quirkiness. I'll definitely come back and play more later as well, because the game is just that cool. Great work!

Eating shit and shooting slugs to achieve nirvana. It's nice to see some biting social satire!

The art is absolutely stunning! I like the merger of GB and PS1 aesthetics; the way the 3D models are rendered is somehow both gritty and cerebral. I especially appreciate the use of strong outlines.

The soundtrack and general sound design conveys each drastic tone shift quite well, and the songs are nice to listen to. I especially like the ironically dinky song used for the police station. Under normal circumstances, I'd note the gun sound peaking the audio to +3.4 dB, but the abrasiveness is clearly intentional. It works well!

This was an addictive experience, and I know I still haven't seen all of it. This is truly impressive. Great work!

goty 2025 dont @ me

not sure if i will ever see the end of this game but ive been very delighted and intrigued with each bit of dialogue, character art, sound/noises/etc.

was worried at first that id never ascend to a higher station and see other colors - imagine my joy awaking as a crablik! incredible!

hard to pick a favorite part but i do love the line about burgers and the sluglik description a lot. The sluglik visuals/experience/lifestyle might be the best part actually.

Thanks for playing! Really appreciate the positive feedback. The slugliks are my favorite class as well!
